Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 15

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at the Fantasy EFL top picks for Gameweek 15. We bring in our expert and regular Fantasy EFL contributor @FPLEdgeworth to reveal two of his best players in each position ahead of the new round.

Our Fantasy EFL Fantasy top picks for Gameweek 15 can be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. Knowing who the best players to own in each position and top two teams to target are could help you beat your mini-league rivals and secure a good rank.

Goalkeepers – Owen Goodman – AFC Wimbledon

My first top pick is Goodman, who plays for Wimbledon. Wimbledon are one of the two teams who have a double gameweek this week. They go up against Barrow and Accrington next up. In Wimbledon’s previous two games against Barrow they managed a clean sheet in each, and against the latter they play at home, a venue they have banked four clean sheets in six matches at.

Connor Ripley – Port Vale

Ripley plays for League Two table toppers Port Vale. They clash with Morecambe, a side who sit rock bottom of League Two. Ripley has kept an impressive three clean sheets in his last four away games, so there may not be a better opportunity on paper to pick up another one.

Defenders – Farrend Rawson – Accrington Stanley

Another double gameweek player is up next in Rawson. He plays for Accrington, and although they have been inconsistent in recent games, Rawson has managed 31 points, including two double-digit hauls. Playing twice this week is a huge appeal. If he can produce even one double-digit haul, then he could be a huge success.

Marc Roberts – Barnsley

My first League One top pick is Roberts. Barnsley currently reside in the playoffs, and this week they play Cambridge, who are in the relegation zone. Back-to-back clean sheets in their last two games makes the Barnsley defence even more appealing this week. With that and the fact Roberts has produced 89 clearances and three goals in 14 games, he has huge potential.

Midfielders – Ben Woods – Accrington Stanley

Woods is my second player from double Gameweek side Accrington, and deservingly so. In his last five games he amassed a huge 46 points, including three double-digit hauls due to his 12 interceptions, one goal, and two assists. In form and with two matches, Woods was an easy addition.

Luke Molyneux – Doncaster Rovers

The highest-scoring midfielder in the game is available to pick this week. Molyneux has had a very good start to the season – scoring six goals and creating four assists in 14 games. Recent form also shows that he has banked four returns for nine or more points in his last six matches. Salford, his upcoming opposition have conceded in each of their last six matches. This could be a good opportunity for him to add to his impressive total.

Forwards – Matthew Stevens – AFC Wimbledon

My final double gameweek player in this week’s top picks is Stevens. The Wimbledon man has managed a solid return of five goals and one assist in just nine starts. This week, as mentioned above, he meets with Barrow and Accrington, and whilst his fellow teammates and strikers head into international duty, Stevens spearheads the Wimbledon frontline.

Louie Barry – Stockport County

Many may be surprised to see Barry’s name in here when taking into account the fact he faces Wrexham this week. But, in the last four games Stockport have played at home, Barry has scored four goals and also created an assist. His home form is very difficult to ignore this week, which makes him one of the best forward picks going into the new round.

Teams to Target

  • AFC Wimbledon – My two teams to target follow the same trend as last week in the fact they both play two matches. First up is Wimbledon, who didn’t lose to Barrow in any of their previous two head-to-heads.
  • Accrington Stanley – The second and final team with a double Gameweek ahead. They play Swindon and AFC Wimbledon this week. Swindon have failed to win any of their last four games whilst Accrington have lost just one of their last five games.

Both sides play each other which guarantees additional points, in comparison to most other sides playing just one match this week.
