Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 13
In this article we take a look at the Fantasy EFL top picks for Gameweek 13. We bring in our expert and regular Fantasy EFL contributor @FPLEdgeworth to reveal two of his best players in each position ahead of the new round.
Our Fantasy EFL Fantasy top picks for Gameweek 13 can be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. Knowing who the best players to own in each position and top two teams to target are could help you beat your mini-league rivals and secure a good rank.
Goalkeepers – Illan Meslier – Leeds United
Meslier is my first pick. The Leeds United goalkeeper has kept seven clean sheets in 12 games this season, including two in the last three games. Leeds play Plymouth and Millwall this week, two teams Leeds should beat but also keep clean sheets against.
Jamie Cumming – Oxford United
My next keeper, a less obvious and more differential pick, but still a top pick, is Cumming. The Oxford man may have only kept three clean sheets this season. But, all three came at home, which is where they play this week on both occasions.
Defenders – Dennis Cirkin – Sunderland
The second-highest scoring player is my next top pick, Cirkin. The Sunderland defender has had a very good start to the season and, in recent times, has returned 6+ points in six of his last eight games. Playing QPR and Preston this week, two teams who are in the bottom half of the table, he should increase his point total significantly.
Shane Duffy – Norwich City
Former Premier League defender Duffy is next up. The veteran has picked up four or more points in the last five games, which over a double gameweek, could lead to a very good score. Norwich play Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday this week, two teams in the bottom half of the table, and Norwich sit just outside the playoffs.
Midfielders – Hayden Hackney – Middlesbrough
Hackney is my first midfielder pick, although he wouldn’t really be picked in a single gameweek. In a double gameweek, he is a viable option, as in the last six games he failed to bank less than five points once, and so over a double gameweek he can get 10+ points. This would be a respectable score, and so because of that, he makes the cut.
Alex Robertson – Cardiff City
The next player is someone who no one would have considered a couple weeks ago, but due to recent team improvements, he has become a very good asset. The man in question is Robertson, who in the last three games has produced a huge 33 points, of which the majority were from goals and interceptions. If he can carry on this form, he could record a mammoth score.
Forwards – Borja Sainz – Norwich City
Sainz is one of the best forwards in the game. So far he has returned in five of his seven matches, which includes three double-digit hauls. Norwich will be clear favourites going into their clashes with Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday, and I expect Sainz to be amongst the returns.
Elijah Adebayo – Luton Town
Adebayo started this season very poorly, but after scoring twice in his last two games, it seems he has regained the quality that he showed in Luton’s Premier League campaign last season. Two home games against West Brom and Cardiff lay ahead so he should hopefully continue scoring.
Teams to Target
- Oxford United – Some may be surprised to see Oxford amongst my teams to target this week. But, the newly promoted side are unbeaten at home this season, which is exactly where they face meetings with Swansea and Hull this week, two teams who haven’t impressed this season.
- Leeds United – A much more popular pick than the previous one, Leeds have two good fixtures this week against Plymouth and Millwall, two sides that Leeds should and need to beat to try to keep up in the Championship title race. With that in mind, they could be worth using one of your five available slots this week.
