Fantasy EFL Top Picks and Fixture Tickers for Gameweek 8

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at the Fantasy EFL top picks and fixture tickers for Gameweek 8. We bring in our expert and regular Fantasy EFL contributor @FPLEdgeworth to reveal his fixture tickers, best teams and top three picks for each of the best doublers this week.

Our Fantasy EFL Fantasy top picks and fixture tickers for Gameweek 8 can be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. Knowing who the best players to own in each position and top two teams to target are could help you beat your mini-league rivals and secure a good rank.

Fixture Ticker Key

Understanding how our expert has rated each fixture is vital and below is a key to bring some clarity.

Teams with green fixtures have the easiest matches whilst the teams with the red fixtures have the toughest. Also, the lower the total FDR score is, the better a teams run of fixtures are.

Championship

Top Picks

  • Burnley – My first team to target is Burnley. They play Oxford and Plymouth in their double gameweek who both lost in GW7. Burnley go into the games as strong favourites and off the back of a recent win. Some of their players to target in order of best to worst are: Josh Brownhill (midfielder), Lucas Pires (defender), and Luca Koleosho (forward).
  • Sheffield United – My next team to target in the Championship is Sheffield United. The Blades come up against Portsmouth and Swansea this week after winning their last three consecutive matches to nil. In terms of players we should look to Gustavo Hamer (midfielder), Harrison Burrows (midfielder, and Harry Souttar (defender) all make the cut.
  • West Brom – My final team to target in the Championship for assets is West Brom as they clash with Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough. Both sides lost in Gameweek 7 and the Baggies sit top of the table with four wins in their last four matches. Key players to target include Josh Maja (forward), Torbjørn Heggem (defender) and Kyle Bartley (defender).

League One

Top Picks

  • Lincoln – My first team to target for assets from League One is Lincoln. Cambridge and Blackpool lay ahead for them, one of those sides sit bottom of the league. Lincoln have shown good early form and as such sit in a play-off spot. Three of their players we could invest in include Paudie O’Connor (defender), Adam Jackson (defender), and Ethan Erhahon (midfielder).
  • Rotherham – Next up is Rotherham as they meet with Shrewsbury and Cambridge. Both of whom have just one win between them and four points this season, you couldn’t really ask for better fixtures. With that in mind we should look to target Joe Powell (midfielder), Jonson Clarke-Harris (defender), and Hakeem Odoffin (forward).
  • Wrexham – Last but by no means least is Wrexham who play Leyton Orient and Stevenage, two teams that sit in the bottom half of the table. Wrexham are currently at the top of the table which is reflective of their excellent form so far. Players we should look to include: Max Cleworth (defender), Eoghan O’Connell (defender), and Elliot Lee (midfielder).

League Two

Top Picks

  • Notts County – Notts County are my first pick in League Two. Morecambe and Carlisle lay ahead for them who both sit amongst the bottom three of League Two. Notts County are also the highest scorers in League Two. Daniel Crowley (midfielder), Jodi Jones (forward), and Matthew Platt (defender), in that priority order, could be brilliant options.
  • Port Vale – My second team to target for assets is Port Vale as they play Swindon and Colchester. Port Vale go into their double Gameweek unbeaten in the last three games. who haven’t lost in their last three matches. Some players we could look to are Ben Garrity (midfielder), Jayden Stockley (forward), and Lorent Tolaj (forward).
  • Bradford – Bradford are my final team to target. They play Harrogate and Morecambe who both sit in the bottom five of League Two. Players to target in order of best to worst include: Brad Halliday (DEF), Andy Cook (FWD), and Sam Walker (GK).
