Fantasy EFL Team Reveal for Gameweek 7

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at @FPLEdgeworth‘s Fantasy EFL team reveal for Gameweek 7. Our expert shares his team, rationale around each pick and discusses the two teams he is backing to win for the sixth round.

Our Fantasy EFL team reveal for Gameweek 7 could be very helpful for fantasy managers. Knowing who our expert picks could be extremely enlightening. It could also bring clarity to some of the decisions we have to make in our own teams.

Team Reveal

Goalkeeper

Jed Steer – Peterborough United – Steer is my first player and the first of many in my team that has a double gameweek, which is very valuable this week. Although Steer hasn’t kept a clean sheet this season, their opponents, Leyton Orient and Bristol Rovers, have failed to score in two and three of their games.

Defenders

Carl Piergianni – Stevenage – Piergianni has just come off a massive gameweek with 17 points in a shock 3-0 win against Barnsley. He will be trying to take that form into this double gameweek where they play Exeter and Wigan. With Stevenage showing their defensive solidity last week and with Piergianni also offering a good amount of points that aren’t just clean sheets and attacking returns, he’s my next pick.

Will Aimson – Wigan Athletic – Aimson is the most consistent returner in this team having returned in four out of five games, and that consistency will be crucial for a double gameweek. He may not be explosive in a single gameweek but two steady games could equal to an explosive single gameweek.

Midfielders

Thelo Aasgaard (C) – Wigan Athletic – Aasgaard completes my first double up in the first ever double gameweek of Fantasy EFL, he is also my captain. Although he started slow in his first two matches, his last three games have all seen double-digit returns.

Kwame Poku – Peterborough United – Poku also completes another double-up, which, as you will see, is not the last one. A reason for that is the double Gameweek ahead. But also, although he hasn’t been that consistent, he has been an explosive returner, his 15 points in week 2 being a good example of that.

Ben Wiles (VC) – Huddersfield Town – Wiles was a popular asset after the first two weeks where he averaged 11 points per game, but has been underwhelming up until last week. This suggests we may see him return to form soon. With two home fixtures against Northampton and Blackpool, it should mean Huddersfield are in and around the goals and so Wiles will be as well.

Forwards

Josh Koroma – Huddersfield Town – Koroma is another example of a consistent point returner – having hit a return in four out of five of his matches played. If he can keep that consistency up over two games, he will be a great pick this week.

Teams to Target

Huddersfield Town – Huddersfield are my first team to target, which completes my first triple-up. They face two teams and go into both with expectation to win. Both fixtures are also at home which boosts Huddersfield’s overall chances of winning, keeping a clean sheet and scoring goals.

Peterborough – Peterborough are my second and final triple up. This selection also confirms that all nine of my picks have a double gameweek. Peterborough should also be favourites for both games, playing at home against Bristol Rovers, who just lost 4-0, and also against Leyton Orient who are currently in the relegation zone.
