Notes
- James Trafford (Burnley) is my goalkeeper this week. Before his last game, he kept 12 consecutive clean sheets and has 24 in just 34 games this season. Facing Luton and West Brom, he’s likely to add two more.
- My captain is Port Vale’s Connor Hall. He has averaged over five defensive action points per game in his last five, effectively matching a clean sheet. If he adds an actual clean sheet, it’s a double-digit haul. With matches against Fleetwood and Colchester, he’s locked in.
- Next up is Sunderland’s Trai Hume, my first ‘upside’ pick. He has three assists in his last five games, and when combined with defensive points and clean sheets, he has big potential.
- My final defender is Leeds United’s Junior Firpo, another ‘upside’ pick. With two goals and two assists in his last five, he could produce a huge haul if he adds defensive points and clean sheets.
- In midfield, I’m going with Middlesbrough’s Finn Azaz. He defines an ‘upside pick,’ having hit double digits in back-to-back games twice this season, including in his last two. His form makes him a must-have.
- Joining him is Leeds United’s Dan James, who has four double-digit hauls in his last 10 games. Given his consistency, a strong return in the double against Portsmouth and Millwall looks likely.
- My lone forward is Hakeeb Adelakun (Salford City). After two successful returns, he stays in my team. With four goals and an assist in his last five games, he should deliver again, especially with easier fixtures ahead.
- Sheffield United is my first team pick. They’ve won eight of their last ten games and, in their push for promotion, should secure wins against Preston and Bristol City.
- Bolton Wanderers is my other team selection. Unbeaten in five after a win over Birmingham, they face Burton and Bristol Rovers away, offering a chance for two more victories—and bonus points.
