Fantasy EFL Team Reveal for Gameweek 3

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at @FPLEdgeworth‘s Fantasy EFL team reveal for Gameweek 3. Our expert shares his team, rationale around each pick and discusses the two teams he is backing to win for the third round.

Our Fantasy EFL team reveal for Gameweek 3 could be very helpful for fantasy managers. Knowing who our expert picks could be extremely enlightening. It could also bring clarity to some of the decisions we have to make in our own teams.

Team Reveal

Goalkeeper – Connor Ripley – Port Vale

Ripley has started this season strong with two clean sheets for a combined points total of 16. This is second highest amongst all goalkeepers. Port Vale play Barrow, who have only scored one goal in their two games, and with Port Vale’s previously mentioned 100% clean sheet record, they could be set for another clean sheet.

Defenders – Vitinho – Burnley

Vitinho has managed a huge two double-digit hauls for a combined total of 23 points in his first two matches. He also ranks in the top five for points amongst all defenders. Burnley play Sunderland this week, although that is a tricky fixture with Sunderland winning both of their games. But, Burnley also won their first two games by bigger margins, so Vitinho could pick up a return from either a clean sheet or an attacking return.

Luke AylingMiddlesbrough – Ayling is another player who has started the season with a reasonable 16 points. Middlesbrough play Portsmouth this week, who failed to score against 10-man Luton recently. With that in mind I can see Middlesbrough keeping a clean sheet against Portsmouth. Ayling also produced six tackles (three points) in both of his previous games which could be a nice top up to his total.

Midfielders – Ben Wiles – Huddersfield Town

Wiles has shown incredible early season form – scoring two goals and creating one assist which helped him to an exceptional 22 points. Huddersfield play Shrewsbury this week, who haven’t won a game yet. On the other hand Huddersfield have won both of their previous games.

Luke Molyneux (VC) – Doncaster Rovers – Molyneux is another player you have to consider this week. So far he has banked an amazing 25 points – ranking second for points amongst all midfielders and only behind Kayembe of Watford. Doncaster play a Morecambe side who have lost both games so far so it could be a perfect opportunity for him to add to his two goals and one assist.

Edo Kayembe (C) – Watford – As mentioned above Kayembe sits as the highest scoring midfielder in the game currently. Watford play Derby, who although played well at home, have really struggled away which is where they play this week. Watford have also won all three of their matches in all competitions this season so it all points to Kayembe to continue his top form.

Forwards – Alassana Jatta – Notts County

Jatta has actually started the season quite poorly – picking up just 10 points. However, he has produced the highest XG in the whole of the EFL so far with 2.03 combined from both games. So, if he takes his chances, he could well pick up a huge haul. Notts County also play a Grimsby side who are yet to keep a clean sheet.

Teams to target

Burnley have started the season in the best possible way, with two wins totalling up to 18 points. As well as this they have also racked up a mammoth nine goals. Burnley play Sunderland this week, and although both teams have had good starts, you would expect Burnley to win.

West Brom have a win and a draw under their belt in his first two games which is good when considering they faced Leeds in one of them. The Baggies clash with Stoke this week which could be a fantastic opportunity to take all three points. West Brom also play away from home which could bring in extra points.
