Notes
- Owen Goodman of AFC Wimbledon is between the sticks this week for me. He plays for a Wimbledon team that are statistically the best defence in League Two. They have also kept five clean sheets in their last six games.
- I have also decided to double up on the Wimbledon defence this week, even triple if you consider captaincy. To do that I have included Ryan Johnson. Johnson offers good defensive action points – recently 15+ clearances in matches.
- My second defender this week is Carl Piergianni (VC) of Stevenage. Although without many clean sheets recently he does have 14 in 28 games overall this campaign. Peterborough and Burton lay ahead this week, both at home, so it would not surprise me if they keep back-to-back clean sheets.
- Wrexham’ Max Cleworth also makes the cut, a player many people may have forgotten about. The Welshman is mostly known for his ability to bag attacking returns from defence, as he has six goals and one assist this season already. But, I am also quietly confident we could see the return of the clean sheets.
- In midfield I have gone for Doncaster Rovers’ Luke Molyneux. He has trolled me multiple times with his inconsistency this season but in his last five games he has picked up four goals and one assist. With Grimsby and Morecambe ahead, Doncaster should be winning and scoring goals.
- Stevenage’ Daniel Kemp completes my two-man midfield. Kemp has been constantly providing goal contributions recently – with four goals and three assists in the last six matches. He clashes with Peterborough and Burton, two sides that could face relegation.
- Alassana Jatta of Notts County is my solo striker. Jatta has produced a huge seven goals and three assists in his last 10 games, so goes into the double in great form.
- Wycombe Wanderers are my first team selection. They face Crawley and Bristol Rovers in the round ahead, two sides that could see themselves relegated at the end of the season. With this in mind, Wycombe should get a result from both.
- My second team pick is Doncaster. Doncaster meet with Grimsby, whom they have beaten in their last three meetings, and Morecambe, who are in the relegation spots. Two wins should be a given this week.
- Good luck everyone!
