Notes

  • In goal I have opted for James Trafford of Burnley. So far this season Burnley have produced a very impressive 19 clean sheets from 28 games, conceding just nine goals in that time. With that in mind, Trafford is a shoo-in for his double Gameweek.
  • Defence opens up with Leeds flying full-back Jayden Bogle (VC). With 16 clean sheets in 27 games, Leeds have also shown they are a top defence. More recently, Bogle has only failed to score six or more points once in his previous eight games. This week against Cardiff and Coventry, he should continue that trend and pick up two decent returns once again.
  • Oxford United’s Ciaron Brown also makes my backline. Although, short of clean sheets in comparison to the previously mentioned defensive assets, he has picked up five double-digit returns in his last eight games. This week he faces two more difficult games in Bristol City and Burnley, but he should still pick up a good enough amount of points.
  • Jimmy Dunne of QPR completes my backline. Dunne is another defender who frequently gets double-digit hauls. In his last five games, the QPR full-back has managed two double-digit returns and this week he plays Millwall and Blackburn, two sides Dunne is fully capable of getting a double-digit return against.
  • Burnley’s Josh Brownhill (C) is my captain choice this week. Brownhill has scored nine goals and provided five assists already this campaign, ticking over with an additional 22 interceptions, all in 28 games. Against Portsmouth and Oxford, two teams that combine for 95 goals conceded in 58 games, Burnley should be scoring and Brownhill should be involved.
  • Daniel James of Leeds United completes the midfield two. James has picked up an impressive seven goals and seven assists in just 23 games, highlighting a great campaign for the Welshman. Cardiff and Coventry lay ahead, which could see James back among the goals again.
  • David Ajiboye takes up my forward role. It’s a name many wouldn’t have necessarily seen so far this season. Ajiboye recently joined Newport County after a stint at non-league York City. Since joining, he has started off very well – with two assists in his first three games. Barrow and Morecambe are two favourable games so he should add to his good start.
  • I’m picking Burnley this week. They play Portsmouth and Oxford so anything which isn’t six points would be a major disappointment. Burnley are a no-brainer this week, and I have only selected them twice thus far this campaign.
  • Leeds United are my second team pick. Although they face a tougher test this week, especially in their second game of the week, they should still win both and extend their 11 game unbeaten run.
