Fantasy EFL Team Reveal for Gameweek 22

In this article we take a look at @FPLEdgeworth Fantasy EFL team reveal for Gameweek 22. Our expert shares his team, rationale around each pick and discusses the two teams he is backing to win for the new round.

Our Fantasy EFL team reveal for Gameweek 22 could be very helpful for fantasy managers. Knowing who our expert picks could be extremely enlightening. It could also bring clarity to some of the decisions we have to make in our own teams.

Team Reveal

Goalkeeper

Franco Ravizzoli – Wycombe Wanderers – My goalkeeper for this week is Wycombe’ Ravizzoli. So far this season he has managed to keep eight clean sheets. Two of those eight clean sheets have come in two of his last four games. Blackpool and Huddersfield lay ahead this week, but both fixtures come at home for Wycombe.

Defenders

Omar Sowunmi (VC) – Bromley – Next up is a recent consistent scorer in Sowunmi. In his last six weeks, the Bromley centre-back has returned a huge 68 points. What is even more impressive is that he has scored three goals in his last three games. Although Sowunmi has slightly difficult fixtures, against Gillingham and Crewe Alexandra, I will be selecting him as my vice captain.

Callum Reynolds (C) – Bromley – Another Bromley player, and who also takes my captaincy armband is Reynolds. Like his defensive partner, Reynolds has been a good consistent scorer, with 58 points in his last five games. His main route to points, along with clean sheets, is through clearances. Of which he has banked a whopping 79 in the last five games. This means he has averaged 15.8 clearances per game, which provided an extra five points. So, even with tough fixtures, points feel guaranteed.

Ryan Johnson – AFC Wimbledon – My final defender this week is Johnson, who plays for Wimbledon. What makes them very appealing from a defensive perspective is that they have produced the second highest amount of clean sheets in League Two this season. They clash with both Newport and Fleetwood, two easier fixtures this week. This could see Johnson add to the 52 clearances he has mustered in his last four games.

Midfielders

Ben Wiles – Huddersfield Town – Huddersfield’ only player this week for me is Wiles. Wiles has been in fairly good form recently – managing two double-digit returns and three returns in total, during his previous-five matches. Against Rotherham and Wycombe, Wiles should be able to pick up a solid amount of points this week.

Ebou Adams – Derby County – Completing my two-man midfield this week is this man, who has a single gameweek. I picked him largely due to the lack of viable midfield options. Adams is another player in great form. In fact as well as returning five times in his last six matches, three of his games have seen him bag a double-digit haul. With multiple routes to points, there is a good chance Adams keeps up with the double Gameweek players.

Forward

Matt Stevens – AFC Wimbledon – Stevens has had a wonderful campaign thus far – ranking second best for goals in League Two with 12. Stevens has great fixtures this week from an attacking perspective, so backing him feels very straight forward this week.

Teams Selections

  • AFC Wimbledon – Wimbledon is the first team I’m picking this week. They currently sit in the playoff spots for their efforts this season. Playing away to Newport and Fleetwood, who are both in the bottom half of the table, make them favourites to win both. Both matches are also away fixtures, which means extra points if they are successful.
  • Wycombe Wanderers – Wycombe is my second team selection. Currently top of League One and recently unbeaten for over 15 games, they face Blackpool and Huddersfield in the round ahead. Both matches are at home, which gives them a big advantage this week.
