Fantasy EFL Team Reveal for Gameweek 14

Goalkeeper

Owen Goodman – AFC Wimbledon – Goodman opens up this weeks team selection. The Wimbledon goalkeeper plays Grimsby at home this week and has collected four clean sheets in the last four games at home. Grimsby are a midtable side, so Goodman should extend his clean sheet record at home to five in a row.

Defenders

Dennis Cirkin – Sunderland – Cirkin is my first defender pick, he also sits as the top point scorer in the Championship by over 10 points. This week he clashes with Coventry at home, a venue in which he has managed more than six points in all six of his matches this season.

Torbjørn Heggem – West Brom – My first double gameweek player this week is Heggem. The West Brom defender plays Burnley and Hull this week, and although the first is a tough matchup, Hull after is much easier. In the 13 games he’s played this season, he has picked up less than four points just twice.

Maxime Estève – Burnley – Estève is another player who has a double gameweek, and he plays West Brom and Swansea this week. Similar to Heggem, he hasn’t managed less than three points in a game this season, so at the worst he could bag six points, which is an acceptable return. But, with how easy the second game is, it should be much more, so he’s in my team.

Midfielders

Josh Brownhill (C) – Burnley – My captain this week is Brownhill. The Burnley midfielder has struggled in recent games, but that’s because Burnley haven’t scored at all. However, in the eight games Burnley have scored in this season, Brownhill banked an impressive five goals and two assists. I think Burnley will score in both games, so he should return good points, and hopefully add to his three double-digit collected already this campaign.

Kwame Poku – Peterborough United – Poku is my next midfielder, who before last week had seven 6+ point returns in nine games. This week against Cambridge, who currently find themselves in the relegation zone, Poku should extend that impressive point record.

Forward

Josh Maja (VC) – West Brom – The last player in my team this week is Josh Maja. After very good early season form, including a hattrick in the first week, he didn’t return for five weeks. However, during that five-week period, West Brom only scored one goal as a team. Maja found the net last week, which could spark the Baggies scoring form once more.

Teams Selections

Burnley – My first team selection this week is Burnley. As mentioned, they have a double Gameweek against West Brom and Swansea this week. As one of the only two teams with a double, the first game is a ‘free hit’. They also have a very winnable second game which adds a lot of appeal.

West Brom – It’s no surprise that my second team selection is the other team who double this week. The Baggies are highly likely to outscore most other teams across all three leagues, so picking them makes sense.
