Team Reveal

Fantasy EFL Team Reveal for Gameweek 1

Goalkeeper

Teddy Sharman-Lowe – Doncaster – 0.4% – Sharman-Lowe has Accrington at home this week. This is arguably one of the best fixtures in the whole EFL. Doncaster picked up five clean sheets in six games during preseason which shows defensive strength. At 0.4% owned, Sharman-Lowe could be a great differential. Regardless, he is one of the best goalkeeper picks for Gameweek 1.

Defence

Junior Firpo – Leeds United – 8.4% – Firpo has Portsmouth at home this week, which is another very good fixture, and with a goal in preseason and two clean sheets in four games, alongside the seven assists in 19 games last season, at 8.4% owned Firpo was one of the first names in my team.

Luke Ayling – Middlesbrough – 10.6% – Ayling has a lot going for him this week. He faces Swansea at home and with four clean sheets in six games during preseason and bagging eight assists in 19 games with Middlesbrough last season he is an easy addition.

Midfield

Sammie Szmodics – Blackburn – 56.7% – Szmodics has promoted Derby at home this week. Unlike some other players in the team, there is a lot of risk as he hasn’t featured during pre-season. He is also rumoured to be leaving. But, with Szmodics being the top scorer last season with 27 goals, if he’s starting, he will be in my team.

Jordan Gibson – Doncaster – 0.1% – Gibson has Accrington home, and as previously mentioned, it is one of the best fixtures in the EFL. Gibson is very likely to start and he scored three goals in five games during pre-season. He is just 0.1% owned so if he returns, which is likely in this fixture, he should give you a massive rank gain.

Forwards

Alfie May (C) – Birmingham – 32.7% – May has Reading at home this week, and with Reading being transfer-banned and relying on lots of youth players, Birmingham are heavy favourites. May scored five goals in four games in pre-season and I think he is almost certain to score. You may have noticed that he is also my captain.

Georginio Rutter (VC) – Leeds United – 4.9% – Rutter has Portsmouth at home this week, which, as previously mentioned, is a very good fixture. With two goals and three assists in four pre-season games, he will be looking to take that form into a season where he tries to replicate what Summerville did last campaign.

Team to Win

Blackpool – 3.2% – Blackpool play Crawley away this week, and with Crawley predicted to finish 24th and Blackpool hopefully edging closer to the playoffs this season, this result should be a comfortable Blackpool win. They are also playing away from home so I could be gain extra points.

Norwich – 13.2% – Norwich play Oxford away this week. Considering Oxford are a newly promoted side and the fact Norwich are an established play-off side, you would expect this result to go one way. Norwich also play away from home.
