- In goal, I’ve opted for MacGillivray. He feels like the best way into the MK Dons defence this week, with the defender slots having better options elsewhere in my opinion. Despite a couple of injuries in their defence, MK Dons still have the quality to shut out an Accrington side who rank bottom across most key attacking statistics.
- In defence, Piergianni is the first name on my team sheet and takes the armband. Choosing between him and Goode is a genuine 50/50 call. Flint joins him, Walsall have proved to be strong defensively, and Tranmere have been over performing and have struggled to create recently. Flint has excellent bonus numbers to give him a good floor, with the added upside of goal threat from set pieces.
- In midfield, Colwill is a lock. He plays at home to a Bradford side who notoriously struggle away from home and his recent record at home is outstanding with three goals and one assist in his last three league games. Cozier-Duberry takes the second spot. A high upside, in form option from a strong Bolton side at home to Wigan, he’s also perfect for the vice captaincy trick as he plays at 12:30. If he hits 14+ points, I’ll look to activate it the trick.
- In attack, I’m doubling up with two forwards for the first time this season. It’s a riskier approach than my usual setup, but it’s hard to ignore the fixtures. Sargent is straightforward, five goals in five games already, and up against a Wrexham defence that keeps leaking chances. Tolaj is the more under the radar pick. Plymouth are flying high with confidence as of late, and normally are a high scoring side at home. Peterborough have been dreadful defensively conceding 15 goals already with the third-highest xGC in the league, and still without a clean sheet. Tolaj is nailed, on penalties, and at the heart of everything in attack. He has real high upside potential this week.
- For club picks, I’ve gone with Portsmouth and Bristol City. Portsmouth feel like the obvious choice on good form against a struggling Sheffield Wednesday side who are still without a win. The second pick was tougher, but Bristol City at home to one of the worst Championship sides this season looks too good to pass up. They’re in fantastic form and will be good to cover them especially when I don’t own any players specifically from them.

Notes
- I’m really excited for the upcoming round. It’s finally time to return to the 2-2-2 formation that I haven’t used in over a year!
- With the EFL’s new fantasy rules this season, midfielders and strikers have become even more valuable. Every shot on target now earns points, often adding 3–4 extras per match. And when they score, the reward is even greater than last season, a huge boost for attacking-minded managers.
- In goal, I’m backing Cardiff’s Trott. They’ve looked like the Championship’s version of Arsenal at home, just one goal conceded (and that was a penalty!). Their defenders haven’t been great for fantasy returns, so Trott feels like the clean, simple pick.
- Defensively, MK Dons’ Ekpiteta and Stevenage’s Piergianni are my guys. Both offer clean sheet potential and some attacking upside.
- In midfield, I’m backing Portsmouth’s Murphy, he’s been a creative force and is central to most of their attacking moves. With a favorable matchup this round, I’m expecting him to rack up both points and influence. Barnsley’s Keillor Dunn also looks set to punish Blackpool and possibly help send Steve Bruce packing.
- Up front, there are at least five strikers I like this round, but Argyle’s Tolaj and Sargent look like the safest plays, solid form and good fixtures.
- Team wise, I’m going against struggling Sheffield Wednesday again. My second pick is Walsall, Tranmere have been overperforming, and I trust the home side more this time. Let’s get those points, formation 2-2-2 is back and better than ever!

Notes
- So for the goalkeeper spot I have chosen MacGillivray from MK Dons. MK Dons are facing a poor attacking side in Accrington who have only managed one goal in their previous four away games. They also over average 0.9xg per 90mins. I think it is a solid defensive pick this gameweek.
- So in defence my first pick is Piergianni for Stevenage. Stevenage are a well known strong defensive side especially at home. They have three home clean sheets from three so far. Piergianni is also a good goal threat and good for defensive bonus. My last defender is Flint. Walsall have been a very good defence this season and have three clean sheets in their last four. They have only conceded two in their last five games and they have conceded around 0.9xG per 90mins so far so limit their opponents to not too much in terms of attack.
- Onto the midfield and I have picked Keillor-Dunn. Barnsley are in great form and they play a Blackpool side who are far from defensively strong. I fancy them to score a couple. DKD is just in great form at the moment so I would expect him to be involved. My second midfielder is Cozier-Duberry. Bolton have a derby match against Wigan and I expect there to be goals in this one with Wigan being away from home. ACD just has many routes to points so is always going to be a great option to pick. I have picked a third midfielder this week and it is Colwill. Cardiff have started off the season brilliantly especially at home. Colwill has started off well in his home games. He has three goals and one assist in the three matches so far.
- Finally onto my forward, and I have picked Sargent. This guy is the best striker in the Championship in my opinion. Wrexham give up so many big chances and have conceded around 2.5xg per 90mins so far this season. Sargent will get chances and with how good he is I would expect him to take a couple!
- In terms of teams I have gone for Portsmouth. They face a Sheffield Wednesday side who have failed to score in their last two league games and are struggling. Portsmouth have been a solid outfit so far and I expect them to get the win on the weekend. My second team is Bristol City. They have been in brilliant form in the past couple of games and Oxford are a much better side at home rather than on their travels. I think this points to a home win for the Robins.

Notes
- My captain for this week is McCrorie after only having one blank in the first five games and with a good home fixture this week.
- My two midfielders are slightly different, with Mehmeti being high upside, low floor, and Norwood having a high floor and also high upside.
- Two forwards in Udoh and Sargent, who between them have only blanked once in seven games for their clubs.
- My two team picks are Gillingham and Bristol Rovers. Both are unbeaten in their last five and both away from home for hopefully bonus away points.

Notes
- Nathan Trott is in goal as Cardiff have a great record at home – only conceding once.
- I have a two-at-the-back this week, with Ross Mcrorie who has a great home fixture and provides attacking threat. Carl Pierganni joins him for his great home fixture to and his bonus numbers.
- I have a three-man-midfield who are all in great form and have very decent route to points. Anis Mehmeti, Amario Cozier-Duberry and Oliver Norwood.
- Josh Sargent is up front for me this week – with five goals in five games and a great fixture.
- Portsmouth face struggling Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth have come into form, so I’m backing them.
- Captaincy is on Carl Piergianni this week.

Notes
- Formation: 2-3-1
- Captain: Josh Sargent
- Team Picks: Norwich (H) & Barnsley (A)
- GK – Craig MacGillivray (MKD – 3.3% selected) – No clean sheet in his last five, but I’m backing him this week. Accrington have only scored four goals, with just three from open play. Their xG is the second worst in the league, while MK boast the third best GC.
- DEFs – Luke Offord (MKD – 4.3% selected) & Manny Monthe (OLD – 0.7% selected) – I’m doubling up on MK’s defence given how poor Accrington’s attack has been. I’m also hoping Offord can rediscover the form he showed in the first four games. Monthe is a huge differential. Oldham’s attack may be weak, but defensively they’ve been excellent, with the joint best GC in League Two at just 0.62 GCp90. He now faces a Cheltenham side who have scored only three goals all season. With 87 defensive actions already, he could be set for a big haul.
- MIDs – Rubin Colwill (CAR – 5.2% selected), Ollie Norwood (STP – 16.4% selected) & Davis Keillor-Dunn (BAR – 12.8% selected) Colwill is on fire. He leads League One with 10 shots on target, has made 14 key passes, and delivered four goal contributions (3G, 1A) in seven games. At home to Bradford, I fancy him to add more. Norwood just keeps delivering. Stockport’s set-piece king has five goal contributions (3G, 2A) in eight games, averaging 9.3 points per match. Away to Rotherham, he has another great chance to build on that tally. Keillor-Dunn now has five goals in seven games. Playing OOP as the central striker, he faces a Blackpool defence with the joint worst GC rate in the league (2.00 GCp90). Another big return feels likely.
- FWD – Josh Sargent (NOR – 11.4% selected)Sargent is impossible to ignore. He’s scored five goals in five appearances, with Norwich’s GW7 draw against Coventry his first blank of the season. Now he faces Wrexham, who own the Championship’s worst xGp90 at 2.22.
- Team Picks – Once again I’m targeting sides conceding heavily. Wrexham have shipped the most goals in the Championship, while Blackpool have been woeful defensively. That makes Norwich and Barnsley’s attacking assets the standout options this round.
