Notes
- In goal, I’ve chosen Lo-Tutala. Rotherham are missing key attacking players and come into this round with the lowest xG in the league (2.60). With their limited threat, this looks like a strong opportunity for a clean sheet.
- The defence feels fairly straightforward this week. Sanders is my first pick and he takes the captain’s armband. His defensive numbers are excellent. MK Dons face a direct Walsall side who haven’t impressed going forward.
- Dunkley joins him, with Crawley offering little attacking threat so far. He brings strong defensive contributions and attacking threat.
- The final spot goes to in form Oluwo. He has a favourable home fixture against Cheltenham, who have conceded the most xG and the most shots from set pieces in the league. With two goals already this season, Olowu has bonus potential and another chance of an attacking return. He also plays Friday night. If he hits 14+ points, I’ll consider activating the vice captain trick.
- In midfield, I’ve gone with Colwill. He has a high ceiling and faces a Plymouth side that are poor away from home and concede plenty of chances.
- He’s partnered by the in form Twine, who looks a strong option at home against a Hull side that continue to struggle defensively.
- Up front, I’ve selected Ivanovic. Forward picks are wide open this week, but Ivanovic stands out as a differential. He faces a Wrexham side who have conceded the most xG in the league and look vulnerable defensively.
- For my club picks, I’m backing Chesterfield and Leyton Orient. Chesterfield are the obvious choice given their fixture, while Orient edge the second spot in what was a tougher decision.

Notes
- So for the goalkeeper spot I have chosen Palmer from Ipswich. Ipswich haven’t had the best of starts in the Championship but they have a nice home fixture vs Derby to get back on track. Derby under Eustace aren’t known for their attacking, so it feels a good fixture to target for a clean sheet.
- In defence my first pick is Sanders. Sanders now has 86 clearances for the season. That coupled with the home fixture for MK Dons and it is a no brainer this week.
- Next up I have Dunkley from Chesterfield. I really like the home fixture against Crawley this week and Dunkley has 64 clearances to his name as well as being a serious aerial threat too.
- My final defender is Oluwo of Salford. Now he could be a doubt for the game on Friday but if he is the starting 11 then he will be in my back four! Two goals in the five games, good clearances and a good chance of a clean sheet…get in my team!
- Onto the Midfield, and I have picked Twine who is in great form at the moment. Bristol City take on a Hull City side who have conceded eight goals in their last three games in all competitions. I think it is a fixture to target and I think Twine can take advantage.
- My next midfielder is Colwill who has been a strong performer in Cardiff’s two home games so far with a goal in each. Cardiff look a much better side at home, so I am backing them to turn up against a poor Plymouth side.
- Now finally onto my forward, and I have backed Ivanovic who takes on a Wrexham side who have given up 14 big chances in their four games in all competitions this season. They are a defensively weak team and it just feels like an opportunity to target them and Millwall have a quality goal scorer in Ivanovic. So, I think it is a good week to go for the Serbian.
- In terms of teams I have gone for Chesterfield who have started strongly on the whole with four wins out of five. They have a solid defence and they do have goals in their team so I fancy the win vs Crawley.
- My second team is Ipswich. Now they have started poorly. But, they haven’t had an easy game yet in their first three. I think this is their chance to get three points on the board and they still have the quality in their squad to get the job done.

Notes
- Alex Palmer is between the sticks this week. I think Ipswich turn a corner and keep a clean sheet against a struggling Derby side.
- I have gone with three at the back this week. All the big boys all having great home fixtures, Chey Dunkley, Jack Sanders and Adebola Owulu.
- Scott Twine has been in great form and has another decent fixture. Alongside him is Olly O’Neil who has been very consistent and also a nice home fixture.
- Michael Cheek is up top on home soil. He is the best option this week for me, so he makes the cut.
- Chesterfield have been impressive so far this season and I fully expect three points at home to Crawley. Crewe are top and have been excellent with four wins out of five and should get the job done this week.
- My captain is on Chey Dunkley and VC Adebola Oluwu for the Friday night fixture.

Notes
- Formation: 2-3-1.
- Captain: Victor Torp.
- Team Picks: Luton (A) & Coventry (A).
- GK – Thimothée Lo-Tutala (DON) – I’ve managed to select a keeper each week since GW2 that has kept a clean sheet. I am hoping that run continues for the Donny man between the sticks. Rovers have only managed two clean sheets so far in GW1 and GW4. But, being at home to Rotherham provides a great opportunity for a third.
- DEFs – Nathan Asiimwe (WIM) & Adebola Oluwo (SAL) – For the past few weeks I’ve been testing out different approaches with my defensive picks, looking for the best route to points beyond clearances. I’ve tried going after attacking defenders, and those on set pieces. This week I’m testing out defenders who like to get tackles and blocks in. For every two tackles, or every two blocks, a defender picks up (+1) point. Asiimwe has played a full 90 mins in every game so far this season (+10), and has amassed a leading 19 Tackles (+9). This is a great bonus to add to his two clean sheets (+10), one goal (+7), one assist (+3), and 17 Clearances (+4). Not bad for five appearances, and whilst Bradford (A) is not an easy fixture, it provides this all-rounder with plenty of routes to points. Oluwo (not to be mistaken with Stockport’s Olowu!) has proven himself to be a solid all-rounder too for Salford. Averaging 8.8 points per game at the moment, he has been in incredible form. Despite only keeping one clean sheet (+5), Oluwo has an incredible 54 Clearances (+13), 10 Tackles (+5) and two goals (+14) in five matches. At home to toothless Cheltenham, he should grab his second clean sheet of the season. He could also be an aerial threat from set pieces.
- MIDs – Victor Torp (COV), Ollie Norwood (STP) & Scott Twine (BRC) – It would be really easy to let recency bias creep in here, and pick Jack Rudoni over Torp. This is especially after Rudoni’s dominant display in GW4. However, I think Torp is the better option having racked up three goals (+18), one Assist (+3) and five shots on target (+5) in Coventry’s dominant wins over Derby (A) and QPR (H), where the Sky Blues smashed in a total of 12 goals. Oxford are a relegation favourite, and with Torp in red hot form, it was a no-brainer to give him the captaincy for this GW. For completely different reasons, I’ve also picked Norwood. He has been Mr Reliable for Stockport this season. So far he has managed eight interceptions (+16), six key passes (+3), one shot on target (+1), one goal (+6) and two assists (+6). Not bad for a 34 year old. Up against a strong Wigan team, it will be a cagey affair. It may hinge upon another Norwood defensive midfield masterclass once again to get Stockport a win. The final midfield pick goes to the man whose name is currently on all FEFL managers’ lips this week: Twine. His popularity has rocketed up to nearly 20% selected for GW5 after an explosive start to the season has seen him accumulate 39 points in just three matches. He is facing a drab Hull team who have been awful defensively. This provides Twine the perfect opportunity to continue his streak.
- FWD – Haji Wright (COV) – Yet another beneficiary of Coventry’s barnstorming performances in GWs 3 and 4. Wright has three goals (+12) from his five shots on target (+5). He will be another man in the Coventry attack looking to pick up where he left off against Oxford (A), after bagging a brace in the 7-1 win over QPR (H).
- Team Picks: This week seems like the perfect opportunity to go after those additional away win (+2) points, with both Luton and Coventry up against opposition who struggle to keep clean sheets. If my teams keep the goals out, it could be a 22-pointer.

Notes
- I have gone with double Milton Keynes and Salford defence. Both play at home, and although risky, all four defensive assets have a history of stable points, no matter if they get a clean sheet or not.
- Scott Twine and Jack Rudoni make up the midfield. Both bring brilliant upside, as so far this season they have both had a game where they have scored over 20 points.
- Coventry City and Swansea City are my club picks. The former scored have 12 goals in their last two games and the latter play a team without a win.
