Fantasy EFL Gameweek 33 Team Selection

Managers like yourself are struggling to put together a draft ahead of the new round. Fear not though! Today we have another Fantasy EFL Gameweek 33 team selection from expert @LPbroadcasts.
Our expert talks through each of his player and team selections, whilst also highlighting his captain pick. With that in mind, let’s jump straight in!
Goalkeeper
I’m not thrilled by any of the doubling options in truth aside Ben Amos (G), and given my current structure, the only option remaining is Connal Trueman. He’s yet to keep a clean sheet since signing in February, made multiple save returns on the way. I’m hoping that against Cheltenham (A) and Carlisle (A) there could be a clean sheet in store!
Defenders
Connor Hall is a lock in most people’s teams, with 224 points 34 appearances for Port Vale. He’s in great form with three double-digit scores in his previous six matches, and is a contributions magnet. At least one clean sheet is expected from the Valiant’s against Morecambe and Barrow.
Moreover, completing my Carlisle double-up, Sam Lavelle and Terell Thomas are clearance magnets, and have 197 and 124 points to their name respectively. Against Bromley (H) and MK Dons (H), even if the shutout scores aren’t there, I’m expecting at least defensive points from the duo.

Midfielders
Another double-up presents itself: Barrow’s Sam Foley and Ben Whitfield. Both out-of-position, Foley is featuring in defence, aiding him to strong interception scores. He has 30 (+60) in 24 games, and has two double-digit hauls in his last three. Additionally, he’s also scored three goals this season (+18) and is a threat from set pieces.
Whitfield, meanwhile, has been featuring in the front three, banking 24 points in his previous three matches. He’s got one goal and three assists in just eight matches for Barrow, and looks to be their main attacking outlet. AFC Wimbledon (A) and Port Vale (A) look to be tough fixtures on paper – nevertheless, I’m confident in all-round points from the pair.
Forwards
Up top, I’m split between Port Vale’s Jayden Stockley or Lorent Tolaj; presently, the former is in my side. He’s scored eight goals (+40) and provided eight assists in 28 for the Valiants, totalling 115 points. Since returning from injury in GW31, he’s scored 17 points in two matches, providing three goal contributions. With two ideal home games, I’d be surprised if he doesn’t get on the scoresheet again.
Team Picks
Port Vale were a straightforward pick this week, a clear standout. Choosing my second selection, however, proved much more challenging. While I had a hunch Carlisle might secure a home draw despite their difficulties, the potential for away points ultimately swayed me.
MK Dons, despite a disappointing season, possess a squad brimming with talent. It feels like they’re due to deliver, and a match against Carlisle (A) could be the 11-pointer we’re all hoping for.
