Fantasy EFL Best Midfielders

In this article we take a look at the Fantasy EFL best Midfielders. We bring in our expert and regular EFL Fantasy contributor @FPLEdgeworth to pick out five of the best midfielders to buy for the 2024/25 EFL Fantasy campaign ahead.

Knowing who the Fantasy EFL best midfielders are could be extremely beneficial to managers. Midfielders are one of the positions to invest in for the campaign ahead due to the scoring system so picking out the best could give you a massive advantage.

Gabriel Sara

Norwich City Sara started all 46 games last season. The nailed starter scored 13 goals and got 12 assists. He also averaged 2.87 key passes per 90, which would give him a guaranteed extra point every game. With Norwich trying to improve on their play-off disappointment last season and Sara approaching his prime, these stats will improve.

Sammie Szmodics – Blackburn Rovers

Szmodics started 44 games last season, and the Championship top scorer scored 27 goals, also getting four assists, and with all of that, he is still down as a midfielder in the game! Although there is a strong possibility of him leaving the Championship, it isn’t guaranteed, so he’s a must-own until he leaves, which is shown by his almost 60% ownership of the game.

Chris Conn-Clarke – Peterborough United

Conn-Clarke started 43 games last season in the National League, scored 22 goals and produced six assists, along with earning his move to League One. Although lots of people see it as a big jump, Conn-Clarke has already scored three goals in pre-season, proving that he can fit right into the Peterborough team that made the play-offs last season.

Adam Phillips – Barnsley FC

Phillips started 35 games last season with Barnsley. There he scored 11 goals and managed six assists. Although his stats may not seem as good as some of the others on the list, Barnsley reached the playoffs last season and will improve. We have already seen in pre-season Phillips bagged a goal in each of his friendlies so he appears to be in good early form.

Daniel Crowley – Notts County

In 43 games last season with Notts County Crowley scored 15 goals and registered 10 assists. He did this for a side who scored a huge 89 goals last season. As their top scorer has left it should allow Crowley to improve on his goals and assists tally, maintaining his position as the best midfield asset from League Two in a Notts County team going from mid-table to a team gunning for promotion.
