Expert Differentials for Gameweek 8

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at some FPL expert differentials for Gameweek 8. At the same time @FBLThinker, @FPL_ElStatto, @FplRabbi, @FplShakenbake and @FPLReaction battle it to see who can earn the title ‘Differential King’.

Differentials are players who have low ownership. This means that if those players are successful then they could significantly boost both your rank and mini-league position. This is exactly why differentials are such an important part of the game.

Note: All ownership stats are likely to change.

@FPL_ElStatto

“Phil Foden – 5.6% ownership – Manchester City – £9.2m – He is away to Wolves who have conceded 10 goals in their first three home games. If Foden starts I’d expect him to return in a comfortable Manchester City win”.

@FplRabbi

“Dwight McNeil – 8.9% ownership – Everton – £5.7m – I will be transferring McNeil in myself this week. Playing central in the #10 Role, creating chances for fun, with no International matches during the break, he should be good to go again vs a very leaky Ipswich defence”.

@FplShakenbake

“Liam Delap – 5% ownership – Ipswich – £5.7m – With four goals already this season, Liam Delap is taking to the Premier League like a duck to water. Ipswich will be targeting this game at home to Everton as one that could provide a huge boost to their survival hopes for the season, so I will be looking to their centre forward to fire them to victory”.

@FBLThinker

“James Maddison – 5.4% ownership – Tottenham – £7.5m – Maddison is coming up against a West Ham side who are conceding lots goals at the moment. He is also in great form so looks good for some attacking returns this week”.

@FPLReaction

“Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 6.1% ownership – Everton – £6m – I’m surprised he is still a differential based on his fixtures. He has been very quiet since returning 18 points in Gameweek 3 and 4. But, a fixture against an Ipswich side who rank the worst in the league for big chances conceded could be where he returns to that form.

Gameweek 7 Scoring

  • @FPL_ElStatto – He went for Leandro Trossard in Gameweek 7. The Belgian failed to start in his sides game against Southampton and so featured for just one point.
  • @FplRabbi – Gabriel Martinelli was his differential last time out. Although he too failed to start the match for Arsenal Martinelli scored and picked up six points.
  • @FplShakenbake – There was a lot of expectation around Arsenal and their fixture against the Saints last week. But, similar to other assets, Riccardo Calafiori, our next competitors pick, also slumped to just two points.
  • @FBLThinker – He opted for Brentford midfielder Fabio Carvalho who scored against Wolves in his sides 5-3 win. His goal helped him to a total of six points.
  • @FPLReaction – Brennan Johnson was his differential in Gameweek 7. Johnson scored in a 3-2 loss against Brighton and was rewarded seven points for his efforts.

Overall Scoring

  • 1st – @FplRabbi – 49 points
  • 2nd – @FBLThinker – 43 points
  • 3rd – @FplShakenbake – 38 points
  • 4th – @FPLReaction – 35 points
  • 5th – @FPL_ElStatto – 33 points
