Expert Differentials for Gameweek 7

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at some FPL expert differentials for Gameweek 7. At the same time @FBLThinker, @FPL_ElStatto, @FplRabbi, @FplShakenbake and @FPLReaction battle it to see who can earn the title ‘Differential King’.

Differentials are players who have low ownership. This means that if those players are successful then they could significantly boost both your rank and mini-league position. This is exactly why differentials are such an important part of the game.

Note: All ownership stats are likely to change.

@FPL_ElStatto

“Leandro Trossard – 2.1% Ownership – Arsenal – £6.9m – He plays at home to struggling Southampton. I can see plenty of goals in it for Arsenal this week if they really want it, and I expect them to get plenty of joy if they go for a high press. Trossard got his place back straight after his suspension and has assisted or scored in last two games (including CL). The points could go anywhere across the attack this week but I’m backing Trossard to be involved”.

@FplRabbi

“Gabriel Martinelli – 3.4% Ownership – Arsenal – £6.9m – After hitting 18 points in the last two Gameweeks, an in form Martinelli meets Southampton at home, so he looks good to continue his run”.

@FplShakenbake

“Riccardo Calafiori – 1.9% Ownership – Arsenal – £5.8m – The Italian followed up a debut goal with an attacking display against Leicester where he ended up with an xGI of 0.76. With Arsenal having the best defence in the league, and at home to a hapless looking Southampton, he could have multiple routes to points”.

@FBLThinker

“Fabio Carvalho – 1.7% ownership – Brentford – £4.8m – He looked good in the last game against West Ham and also registered an assist. Brentford play a Wolves team who are known to concede goals away from home so Carvalho looks like a good attacking option for this Gameweek”.

@FPLReaction

“Brennan Johnson – 1.6% Ownership – Tottenham – £6.4m – Tottenham have been that impressive they rank amongst the best two teams for most underlying attacking metrics. With that in mind and taking into account how badly Brighton defended in their last match I think Johnson could continue his brilliant recent form”.

Gameweek 6 Scoring

  • @FPL_ElStatto – He opted for Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez last week. Nunez failed to feature at all for the Reds as they beat Wolves 2-1 and so ended with zero points.
  • @FplRabbi – Antoine Semenyo was his differential last week. The Bournemouth attacker scored one goal in his sides 3-1 win over Southampton and as a result earned seven points.
  • @FplShakenbake – He went for Gabriel Martinelli in Gameweek 6. Martinelli managed a massive 13 points after scoring and assisting against Leicester.
  • @FBLThinker – Nottingham Forest disappointed in their Gameweek 6 match against Fulham. The Cottagers won the game 1-0 which meant Chris Wood flopped to just two points.
  • @FPLReaction – He picked Fulham striker Raul Jimenez last week who scored the only goal in the game between Nottingham Forest v Fulham. Because of his Raul picked up nine points with the help of bonus.

Overall Scoring

  • 1st – @FplRabbi – 43 points
  • 2nd – @FBLThinker – 37 points
  • 3rd – @FplShakenbake – 36 points
  • 4th – @FPL_ElStatto – 32 points
  • 5th – @FPLReaction – 28 points
