Everton Top Picks for FPL 2024/25

Last modified date

Fantasy Premier League has launched for another season. For that reason we continue to cover each team in the build up to the start of the new campaign. In this article we take a look at the Everton top picks for FPL 2024/25.

Picking out the Everton top picks for FPL 2024/25 could be really helpful for managers. The Toffees could be one of several teams with the potential to offer some great value for money assets this season, so let’s see what we can find.

Everton had to battle through more than just their opposition last season. Points deductions become a major obstacle for them but manager Sean Dyche made them tough to beat and that helped them to achieve a 15th place finish.

24/25 Starting Fixtures

Below we can see the Fantasy Football Scout Fixture Ticker. We can see Everton sit eighth on the ticker with starting matches against Brighton, Tottenham, Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Leicester and Crystal Palace.

Everton Defence

Everton may have finished 15th last season but maintained some excellent defensive numbers, ranking (best):

  • 3rd – Total clean sheets (13)
  • 4th – Goals conceded
  • 6th – Expected goals conceded
  • 13th – Total shots in the box conceded
  • 12th – Total attempts conceded
  • 7th – Total shots on target conceded
  • 6th – Big chances conceded

Comparing the Everton Defensive Players

Comparing all of the Everton defensive assets is crucial in picking out the best options. With that in mind we take a look at their minutes and attacking threat.

We can see that goalkeeper Jordan Pickford (£5m) sits highest for gametime last season after playing 3420 minutes.

Two other players who managed to impressively play 3000+ minutes was centre-backs James Tarkowski (£5m) and Jarrad Branthwaite (£5m).

The fourth highest for gametime was full-back Vitalii Mykolenko (£4.5m) with 28 starts.

Although shorter on gametime than his centre-back teammates Mykolenko was just one attacking return short of Branthwaite who racked up four goal contributions.

Tarkowski wasn’t too far off his teammates though with two attacking returns.

Conclusion

The standout defensive asset at Everton could well be Vitalii Mykolenko. The Ukrainian played a good amount of gametime and showed solid attacking threat. What gives him the edge over his teammates is that he comes in at £0.5m cheaper.

Those looking for a good goalkeeper option in a defence we can trust then Jordan Pickford remains a great pick.

Both James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite could also remain good options. However, taking into account the quality of the £4.5m bracket they are much less appealing this time around.

Everton Attack

Everton struggled for large proportions of the season from an attacking perspective, ranking (best):

  • 19th – Goals scored
  • 12th – Expected goals conceded
  • 11th – Total attempts on goal
  • 12th – Total shots in the box
  • 10th – Big chances total
  • 15th – Total shots on target

Comparing the Everton Attackers

This time its the turn of the attackers. Midfielder Dwight McNeil (£5.5m) was their most reliable players in terms of minutes last season with 2893.

Another player who Everton seemingly relied upon was Abdoulaye Doucoure (£5.5m) who played 2624 minutes.

Two other players who managed 2000+ minutes was midfielder Jack Harrison (£5.5m) and striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£6m). The latter missed out on a significant amount of matches due to injury.

Dwight McNeil remains top of the pile when taking into account attacking returns with (11). Doucoure created just one attacking return short of McNeil after banking seven goals and three assists.

Penalty taker Calvert-Lewin played less minutes than both McNeil and Doucoure and still racked up 10 attacking returns.

Additional Notes

Everton signed in-game forward Illiman Ndiaye (£5.5m) from Marseille during the summer. We would be wise to monitor both his position and output during pre-season.

Conclusion

From the information above it could be safe to say Dwight McNeil stands out at Everton as the most reliable attacker. Not only did he play the most minutes but he also managed the most attacking returns.

Calvert-Lewin will also be a serious consideration as always. As well as leading the Everton frontline he also takes penalties. However, the Englishman is majorly injury prone so monitoring his fitness should be a priority.

Doucoure could also be an interesting differential after being both reliable for gametime and effective when playing.

Everton Top Picks

After comparing all players for both minutes and attacking potential the Everton Top Picks for FPL 2024/25 are:

  • Vitalii Mykolenko
  • Jordan Pickford
