EURO Fantasy Matchday 4: Saturdays Goals, Assists and Player of the Match Awards

We continue our coverage of the summer tournament. Here our focus is on EURO 2024 Fantasy Matchday 4 as we cover all of Saturdays goals, assists and player of the match awards. We also highlight anything else of extreme significance.

Our EURO 2024 Fantasy Matchday 4 coverage could be invaluable for managers. Checking out goals, assists and player of the match awards from the previous matches could help with things like transfers, captaincy and chip strategy.

Switzerland 2-0 Italy

We saw an awful performance from Italy on Saturday night as Switzerland beat them comfortably in a 2-0 win. Their first goal came via midfielder Remo Freuler (€5.5m) who scored and registered four ball recoveries. His efforts helped him to reach a huge nine points in EURO Fantasy.

Creating both the assist for the first goal and scoring the second goal was midfielder Ruben Vargas (€6m). As well as his two goal contributions Vargas earned the player of the match award which saw his tally hit 14 points.

The assist for the second Swiss goal came from wing-back and in-game midfielder Michel Aebischer (€5m). Aebischer managed his third return of the campaign and finished the match with six points.

The Switzerland clean sheet meant plenty of returns at the back. Manuel Akanji (€5m) was one of those assets after hitting eight points with the help of six ball recoveries. Fellow centre-back Fabian Schar (€4.5m) came close to scoring an own goal but still returned seven points.

Some within the community chose to back Italy centre-back Alessandro Bastoni (€5.5m) due to his elite attacking data and ball recovery potential. But, Bastoni failed to meet his potential after hitting just two points and registering three ball recoveries.

Germany v Denmark

Demark caused the hosts a lot of problems during their match but it wasn’t enough. The Germans progressed after winning their fixture 2-0.

Scoring the first Germany goal was striker Kai Havertz (€7.5m). Havertz converted the penalty earned from a Danish handball and that meant he finished the match with six points.

The second and final Germany goal came via midfielder Jamal Musiala (€8.5m). The Bayern man racked up his third goal of the tournament which provided owners with a huge nine points in EURO Fantasy. Registering the assist for his goal was defender Nico Schlotterbeck (€4.4m) who replaced the suspended Johnathan Tah. Combined with the clean sheet and a whopping 10 ball recoveries Schlotterbeck hit a 12-point haul.

The Germany clean sheet benefitted players like goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (€6m) who bagged six points and left-back David Raum (€5m) who collected seven points. However, it also contributed towards centre-back Antonio Rudiger’ (€5.5m) total of 13 points, along with the player of the match award.

A couple of key players failed to start the match, including left-back Maximilian Mittelstädt (€4.1m) and midfielder Florian Wirtz (€7.5m), the latter however came on for nine minutes.
