EURO Fantasy Matchday 2: Thursday Goals, Assists and Player of the Match Awards

We continue our coverage of the summer tournament. Here our focus is on EURO 2024 Fantasy Matchday 2 as we cover all of Thursdays goals, assists and player of the match awards. We also highlight anything else of extreme significance.

Our EURO 2024 Fantasy Matchday 2 coverage could be invaluable for managers. Checking out goals, assists and player of the match awards from the previous matches could help with things like transfers, captaincy and chip strategy.

Slovakia 1-1 Serbia

After scoring around the 69th minute Slovenia thought they had won it. However, a last gasp header in the 95th minute of stoppage time meant Serbia collected a crucial point.

The Slovenia goal was helped in by full-back Zan Karnicnik (€5m). Karnicnik racked up 13 points for his goal, seven ball recoveries and player of the match award. Creating the goal was Forward Timi Elsnik (€6m) who finished the match with seven points.

Serbia forward Luka Jovic (€6m) powered in the header from the corner which meant a four-point return for him. Midfielder Ivan Illic (€5.5m) provided the cross which was rewarded with seven points.

Popular strikers Dusan Vlahovic (€7.5m) and Alexander Mitrovic (€7m) failed to provide any goal contributions.

Denmark 1-1 England

It took England just 18 minutes to break the deadlock but Denmark responded soon after with a goal of their own.

Striker Harry Kane (€11m) scored England’ only goal which helped him to six points in EURO Fantasy. Unfortunately for owners and captainers Kane was just one short of a ball recovery point.

Denmark midfielder Morten Hjulmand (€5.5m) scored a thumping goal which ricocheted off the post into the net. Wing-back Viktor Kristiansen (€4.5m) produced the assist and so ended the game with five points.

Another Danish midfielder who also impressed was Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (€5.5m). Hojbjerg won the player of the match award which meant he ended the game with a cool seven points.

Denmark midfielder Cristian Eriksen (€7m) hit just two points, England defender Trent Alexander-Arnold (€5.5m) collected two points after coming off around the 54th minute and England midfielder Bukayo Saka (€8.5m) hit just two points.

Spain 1-0 Italy

Late Thursday we saw a tight affair between Spain and Italy, or at least the score line would suggest.

Spain were rewarded for their dominance after forcing an own goal. Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori (€4.5m) forced the ball into his own net and finished the game with three points after producing 11 ball recoveries.

The only other Italy player to impress was goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma (€6m). The PSG shot-stopper made eight saves resulting in an additional two points.

Spain midfielder Nico Williams (€7m) claimed the player of the match award for his performance and that meant he returned six points.

The top earners were the Spain defenders after keeping the clean sheet. One of them was full-back Marc Cucurella (€4.5m). The Chelsea man produced a whopping 14 ball recoveries and added to his clean sheet hit 10 points.
