Slovakia 1-2 Ukraine
Slovakia struck first in the 17th minute but a goal around the 54th to level it and a goal in the 80th meant Ukraine came away as 2-1 victors.
Ukraine midfielder Mykola Shaparenko (€5.5m) picked up a huge 14 points. Shaparenko had a part in both goals – scoring and assisting, helping him to collect the player of the match award. The second Ukraine goal came from veteran forward Roman Yaremchuk (€6m) who finished the game with four points.
Slovakia forward Ivan Schranz (€5.5m) scored his second goal of the competition to reach six points. Assisting him was midfielder Lukas Haraslin (€6.5m) who banked five points.
Popular Ukraine goalkeeper Andriy Lunin (€4.5m) failed to feature in the game to the disappointment of EURO Fantasy managers. Others who were un-used substitutes for Ukraine included defenders Yukhym Konoplia (€4.5m) and Vitaliy Mykolenko (€5m) and forward Viktor Vsygankov (€6m).
Poland 1-3 Austria
It was another disappointing game for Poland. Their 3-1 defeat to Austria meant they were the first team to be knocked out in the Group Stage.
Poland’ top earner was striker Krzysztof Piatek (€6m) who scored and collected six points.
The Austria win meant several of their players did well. One of the most successful assets was midfielder Christoph Baumgartner (€6.5m). Baumgartner scored his sides second goal and picked up player of the match to finish on 11 points. The other two goals came from striker Marko Arnautovic (€7m) who managed five points and defender Gernot Trauner (€4.5m) who hit eight points.
Creating one of those goals was midfielder Marcel Sabitzer (€6.5m) who earned the penalty. Sabitzer fell short of Baumgartner with just five points. The other assists came from defender Phillipp Mwene (€4.5m) who banked six points and midfielder Alexander Prass (€6m) who returned just four points.
France 0-0 Netherlands
On Friday evening we saw the first goalless draw of the competition.
Interestingly Netherlands started both defenders Denzel Dumfries (€5.5m) and Jeremie Frimpong (€5.5m) with the latter playing in right-wing. Both players failed to pick up an attacking return but still picked up a healthy six points. Joining his teammates amongst the points was captain and defender Virgil Van Dijk (€6m) who hit eight points due to ball recoveries.
The clean sheet also meant returns for the France backline. Defenders Jules Kounde (€5m) and Theo Hernandez (€5.5m) both finished the match on six points.
To the surprise of very few France midfielder N’Golo Kante (€6m) won the player of the match award which helped him take away a six-point return.
