EURO Fantasy Matchday 1: Sundays Goals, Assists and Player of the Match Awards
We continue our coverage of the summer tournament. Here our focus is on EURO 2024 Fantasy Matchday 1 as we cover all of Sundays goals, assists and player of the match awards. We also highlight anything else of extreme significance.

Netherlands v Poland
Poland gave Netherlands a huge scare on Sunday but a late goal meant a 2-1 Dutch victory.
The highest scoring player of the game was Netherlands striker Cody Gakpo (€7.5m) who scored from outside of the box. Gakpo’ efforts helped him pick up the player of the match award and a 10-point return as a result.
Helping to create both of the Netherlands goals was defender Nathan Ake (€5.5m). Ake produced two assists in the game and with his three ball recoveries mustered up nine points. Substitute and striker Wout Weghorst (€6.5m) played just nine minutes but scored and returned five points.
Poland striker Adam Bursa (€5.5m) scored their goal which banked him a cool six points. Midfielder Piotr Zielinski (€6.5m) picked up five points for his assist.
Popular players including forward Memphis Depay (€7.5m) and defender Denzel Dumfries (€5.5m) had more than enough opportunities to return but they did not.
Slovenia v Denmark
The second match of the day was also a tight affair as the game between Denmark and Slovenia ended 1-1.
Denmark struck first via midfielder Christian Eriksen (€7m). Eriksen was excellent throughout the game and was rewarded for that with the player of the match award and a 10-point return. Striker and teammate Jonas Wind (€7m) produced the assist which meant he ended the match with five points.
However, the highest scorer of the game was Slovenia defender Erik Janza (€4.5m) who scored the equaliser from outside the box and racked up eight ball recoveries.
Both Denmark defenders Alexander Bah (€4.5m) and Victor Kristiansen (€4.5m) started the game which meant teammate and defender Joakim Maehle (€5.5m) featured briefly.
England v Serbia
England were extremely nervy throughout their performance but eventually won the game 1-0.
The winning goal came from midfielder Jude Bellingham (€9.5m). Bellingham scored early on, managed five ball recoveries and earned himself the player of the match award, helping to a huge 12 points. Assisting his goal was midfielder Bukayo Saka (€8.5m) who collected a six-point return.
Also amongst the assists due to the clean sheet was centre-back Marc Guehi (€4.5m) who hit eight points, in-game defender Trent-Alexander Arnold (€5.5m) who collected seven points and popular goalkeeper Jordan Pickford (€5m) who bagged six points.
Popular striker Harry Kane (€11m) struck the bar but failed to pick up any significant returns in the match.
