EURO Fantasy Experts Ahead of the Matchday 6

We bring in the EURO Fantasy experts ahead of Matchday 6. It has been a whirlwind Matchday 5 with lots of key moments and returns of which some of the best managers and biggest personalities in the EURO Fantasy community have reacted to. They also highlight players, teams and chips looking ahead.

Catching up with some EURO Fantasy experts ahead of Matchday 6 could be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. From them we can emphasise some of the best and worst performances which can then have an effect on future planning.

The first semi-final saw the hosts clash with Spain. The latter were dominant and struck first but Germany hit back just before the 90th minute. A goal towards the end of extra time meant Spain secured their spot in the Semi-Finals ahead of their opposition.

Many backed the likes of Ilkay Gundogan and Jamal Musiala who both blanked for Germany. The popular Spain assets didn’t offer much as Nico Williams, Pedri and Alvaro Morata all failed to contribute to their sides goals.

The game itself however was full of bookings. The English referee dished out a massive 16 cards in total, two of those cards were given to defender Dani Carvajal. The Real Madrid defender doesn’t just miss out on Matchday 6 but EURO Fantasy managers are unable to substitute him out due to the rule that prevents it.

Portugal v France was another seismic clash many within the community had high hopes for. Some like @FPLReaction predicted a low scoring match that went into extra time and penalties and that is exactly what we got.

However, the 0-0 draw also meant that many within the world of EURO Fantasy benefitted from multiple clean sheets. Favourites like Joao Cancelo, Jules Kounde, Diogo Costa and Pepe all picked up significant returns for their owners.

The above wasn’t without disappointment though. Portugal were knocked out so players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and other mentioned above will inevitably have to be replaced ahead of the new round.

England did what they do best and frustrated both the fans and EURO Fantasy managers. After conceding in the 75th which meant blanks for defensive assets like Jordan Pickford, John Stones and Kieran Trippier England responded with a goal of their own in the 80th.

The England equaliser didn’t just mean a return for Bukayo Saka owners but it also meant the game going into extra time. Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden were also amongst the England attackers who failed to return.

With England now through EURO Fantasy managers will be hoping for a better performance overall. With more England player slots now available to fill those same managers have to decide to either fill them or avoid stocking up on them.

Netherlands played in the final fixture of the round against Türkiye. The Dutch took an early scare after conceding. This also meant that defenders like Nathan Ake and Virgil Van Dijk failed to pick up a significant return.

That may have been the case but both Denzel Dumfries and Stefan De Ligt rewarded their owners with an assist and a goal respectively. Also amongst the returns was Memphis Depay, a player who has frustrated owners week after week during the campaign.

Popular pick Cody Gakpo couldn’t better Depay’ assist this week which could raise question marks over which striker to pick in the week ahead. Some, with a fixture against England up next, could even decide to avoid the Netherlands attack completely.
