EURO Fantasy Experts Ahead of the Matchday 5

We bring in the EURO Fantasy experts ahead of Matchday 5. It has been a whirlwind Matchday 4 with lots of shocks and surprises of which some of the best managers and biggest personalities in the EURO Fantasy community have reacted to. They also highlight players, teams and chips looking ahead.

Catching up with some EURO Fantasy experts ahead of Matchday 5 could be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. From them we can emphasise some of the best and worst performances which can then have an effect on future planning.

Germany have been one of the most reliable teams for EURO Fantasy managers and that didn’t change this week. The hosts fought hard against Denmark and they were rewarded as they completed a 2-0 victory over them.

The biggest shock of the game came in the form of Maximilian Mittelstädt failing to start the match. Another disappointment was of course Ilkay Gundogan who blanked and played just 64 minutes. The biggest success, along with Antonio Rudiger’ 13-point return, was of course Jamal Musiala. The Bayern man hit nine points for his goal, helping many to bank a solid captaincy return.

Many rested a lot of hopes on Portugal assets in Matchday 4. It was a defiant effort from Slovenia as they held the favourites all of the way to a penalty shootout.

The Portugal clean sheet meant lots of big returns for their defenders with the likes of Pepe hitting 10 points. However, goalkeeper Diogo Costa stole the show after saving three penalties in the shootout and banking nine points for his efforts.

Those who backed Portugal attackers were less fortunate however. As well as Bruno Fernandes failing to produce anything of significance main man Cristiano Ronaldo picked up zero points after missing a penalty.

Andy was amongst the EURO Fantasy managers who went heavy on Spain in terms of investment. Spain blitzed their way past Georgia in the round of 16, putting four goals past their opposition and rewarding owners with big hauls.

Whilst many benefitted from the likes of Rodri, Fabian Ruiz and Nico Williams, others were frustrated by the defensive assets. Georgia’ goal meant popular picks like Marc Cucurella and Dani Carvajal hit well below expectations and there will be huge question marks over whether both are worth hanging onto with a clash against Germany ahead.

Another side who caused major anxiety in the EURO Fantasy community was of course England. England conceded early and it wasn’t until the dying seconds of the game that they decoded to respond. As we can see below, it was Jude Bellingham who was the difference, scoring an overhead kick and securing a nine-point return.

Bellingham wasn’t the only English attacker who left it late to strike. Harry Kane was rather uninvolved for the majority of the match. However, his goal in extra time helped to secure his sides position in the quarter-finals, along with a six-point return in EURO Fantasy.

Offering both points and frustration was defender Marc Guehi. The England centre-back conceded, created an assist and picked up a yellow card. His efforts mean that not only did he hit seven points but he also earned himself a suspension in the next round.
