@FPLMarcin
There was a lot of doubt around the Germany starting XI prior to Matchday 3. Many expected heavy changes but that wasn’t to be and EURO Fantasy managers were happy to see a full strength team ahead of their match against Switzerland.
Switzerland proved tough opposition and it wasn’t until stoppage time that Germany scored their only goal. The goal came but popular assets like Jamal Musiala, Ilkay Gundogan, Florian Wirtz and
Maximilian Mittelstädt all failed to contribute.
With a match against Denmark likely in the round of 16, EURO Fantasy managers could stick with the same assets mentioned above after impressive rounds in Matchday 1 and 2.
@FPLMode
Disappointment on Day 1 meant that many had to rely on their Monday assets. Most of those managers were also hoping for a captaincy return good enough to hold onto.
Spain were a popular side heading into Matchday 3. They edged Albania 1-0 which meant returns for defenders like Alejandro Grimaldo who much of the community backed.
Mikel Oyarzabal was also a popular pick for the round, however he failed to get amongst the action. It was teammates Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo who took most of the spoils with their goal and assist.
Spain face a third placed team in the round of 16 which means they will almost certainly be top of managers shopping list. However, as for the assets mentioned here it could be the first and final time we rely on them during this competition.
@FPLGOAT7
Captaincy continued to disappoint on the Tuesday night. France started their third match well against Poland after star man Kylian Mbappe put away the penalty. However, that lead didn’t last long after a Poland equaliser meant the game finished 1-1.
As well as the France clean sheet wipe out Mbappe failed to increase his tally from a goal to more, effectively making the captaincy decision a tough one on the final day.
Regardless France progressed and join teams like Germany and Portugal on the same side of the draw. This combined with their questionable start to the tournament could put EURO Fantasy managers off heavily investing for Matchday 4.
@FlapjackFpl
Whilst Flapjack celebrated England’ progression into the round of 16, many were in disbelief of their consistent sub-par performances. But, more importantly for EURO Fantasy managers the 0-0 draw meant another frustrating night with assets like Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka.
A likely clash against Netherlands in the round of 16 could be exactly what they need to come out of their shell. Regardless, three underwhelming performances in the Group Stage will make managers think twice before doubling or tripling up on their assets.
@FPLReaction
Austria v Netherlands became the standout fixture in Matchday 3. Both showed impressive traits in their first two matches and the game didn’t disappoint as it ended 3-2 to Austria.
Whilst Netherlands could face England in the next round, Austria could end up with a targetable fixture. Players like Marcel Sabitzer and Christoph Baumgartner will almost certainly be amongst the attackers considered after three brilliant performances.
