Best Limitless Team for Matchday 5
Goalkeepers
The combination of Diogo Costa (€5m) and Jordan Pickford (€5m) remains one of the best between the sticks. Both players feature for two of the best defences in the tournament and both are on either side of the draw.
Defenders
Doubling up on the England defence may appear problematic but if rumours are true and Trent Alexander-Arnold (€5.5m) is playing at wing-back then he could be one of the best defender options for the round ahead.
The Portugal and France match could well be a low scoring one based on their defensive showings in the competition so far. With that in mind we opt for both Portugal’ Joao Cancelo (€6m) and France’ Jules Kounde (€5m). Both players have attacking threat and both have the potential to rack up ball recoveries.
Netherlands have arguably the easiest fixture in the round of 16. Because of that the double up of Nathan Ake (€5.5m) and Denzel Dumfries (€5.5m) could be a hugely rewarding one. Both also offer attacking threat as shown by Ake’ two assists and Dumfries advanced positioning on the pitch.
Midfielders
Germany and Spain dominate the majority of the key attacking metrics so we can expect goals from both sides in the upcoming fixture. Jamal Musiala (€9.5m) is the standout attacker for Germany after scoring in three of his four matches. For Spain it’s Nico Williams (€7.5m) who appears to be the biggest threat. Williams impressed in the round of 16, scoring and registering an assist.
Set pieces and good expected minutes are two hugely appealing factors when picking out a midfielder and Bruno Fernandes (€9m) has both at his disposal. If Portugal are going to score goals then Fernandes could well be involved.
There can be no doubts around who the best midfielder option for England is now. After scoring two goals and playing more minutes than most of his attacking teammates Jude Bellingham (€9.5m) is an easy inclusion this week against Switzerland.
The Netherlands appear to by finding their rhythm offensively. This makes their attacking assets hugely favourable for selection. Xavi Simons (€7m) appears to be the best of the bunch in terms of their midfield options after creating an assist in both of his last two games.
Forwards
Türkiye rank as second worst in the tournament so far for big chances conceded so doubling up on the Netherlands attack could be beneficial. Cody Gakpo (€7.5m) continues his blistering form in the EURO’ after scoring a goal, registering an assist and earning a player of the match award in the round of 16.
Counting on the best players could be a good play in the quarter-finals. With that in mind penalty taker and main man for France Kylian Mbappe (€11m) could be one of the best striker picks in the round ahead.
England face a Switzerland side this week who are yet to convince defensively. Two goals in four matches for Harry Kane (€11m) suggests he isn’t short of form so sticking with him could be rewarding.
