EURO 2024 Semi-Final Fixtures

After some fiercely fought Quarter-Final matches we finally arrive at the latter stages of the competition. In this article we take a look at the EURO 2024 Semi-Final fixtures, including which teams face off against who and who they could play if they beat their upcoming opposition.

Mapping out the EURO 2024 Semi-Final Fixtures and beyond can be extremely useful for fantasy managers. Not only could it help decide which players to back for the round ahead but it can also help with long-term planning.

The first Quarter-Final saw a clash between Germany and Spain. Spain struck first in the 51st minute via a Dani Olmo goal and Lamine Yamal assist. The hosts hit back but the equalising goal didn’t come until the 89th minute, helped on by Florian Wirtz who scored and Joshua Kimmich who registered the assist. Spain hit late in extra time thanks to a Dani Olmo goal and Mikel Merino assist. This secured their position in the Semi-Finals with a fixture against 2022 World Cup finalists France.

The second Quarter-Final of the week was between Portugal and France. Their were high expectations from the match but they failed to come to fruition. Both sides had limited chances and even extra-time could not separate them. It took a penalty shootout to sperate them but France came out as victors. Spain lay ahead for the French and the winner of that game will face either England or Netherlands in the final.

England were tested against the Swiss in their Quarter-Final match. It was a game with little chances and the first goal didn’t come until the 75th minute from Breel Embolo. England reacted five minutes later as Bukayo Saka’ long range effort took the game into extra time. However, it took a penalty shootout to separate the teams and England came out on top. England booked their place in the Semi-Finals with a fixture against Netherlands.

The final game of the round came between Netherlands and Türkiye. The latter scored first via a Arder Guler assist and Samet Akaydin goal. It took until the 70th minute for the Dutch to respond and it was centre-back Stefan De Vrij who found the net after a Memphis Depay cross. Six minutes later Denzel Dumfries forced an own goal with his cross to claim his sides place in the next round. Netherlands have one final test against England. This is before the final where they could play either Spain or France.
