EURO 2024 Fantasy Serbia Top Picks

In this article we take a look at the EURO 2024 Fantasy Serbia top picks. Here we touch upon the recent form of Serbia, how they achieved qualification, highlight their best picks, and anything else of relevance.

Our EURO 2024 Fantasy Serbia top picks could be crucial for managers. Knowing how a team has been performing recently can be helpful. But, knowing who the best picks from each team can be essential for the tournament ahead.

Serbia have been hit and miss throughout the last several years. In their 2022 World Cup campaign they finished rock bottom in a Group including Cameroon, Switzerland and Brazil.

Form improved significantly during their Nations League campaign however. In fact, Serbia topped their Group ahead of very good sides like Norway, Sweden and Slovenia. During that campaign they won four, drew one and lost one whilst scoring 13 goals and conceding five.

They then went onto secure a second place finish in the EURO Qualifiers. Although lacking in the defensive department, Serbia racked up 15 goals scored in just eight of their matches.

In the two friendly matches they played following that they lost to Russia 4-0 but beat Cyrus 1-0.

EURO 2024 Fixtures

Serbia begin their Journey with a fixture against England. Although poor in their recent Nations League campaign the 2021 finalists go into the competition as favourites to win.

They continue their campaign against a Slovenia side who finished second in their Qualifying Group but also who finished third in their Nations League campaign and failed to advance in their World Cup Qualifiers.

Serbia then end their Group Stage with an interesting tie against Denmark who topped their Qualifying Group and edging France and Austria in their latest Nations League campaign.

Top Picks – Vanja Milinković-Savić

Serbia have struggled at the back for some years now, they showed this in their recent EURO Qualifiers by keeping just two clean sheets. However, for those adamant they want a Serbia defensive asset then look no further than Vanja Milinković-Savić (€4.5m).

As well as coming in at a cheap and enabling price-tag Vanja Milinković-Savić has form at his side. In fact he was instrumental in Serie A side Torino banking a whopping 18 clean sheets this season, and ranking as one of the best defensive sides in Italy.

Nemanja Gudelj

The Serbia assets have come in with some awkward price-tags considering how tough the competition is in their Group. That may be the case but they also have one or two players who offer assets with a trait the game lacks in general.

One of the players with the above appeal is Nemanja Gudelj (€5m). Finding midfielders at this price could be difficult and Gudelj could just be the enabler we need in midfield. Gudelj has huge experience for both club and country. His recent 23/24 Champions League campaign saw him score two goals for Sevilla. Gudelj also offers ball recovery potential too. In fact in his EURO Qualifying round he averaged 6.6 per game.

Dušan Vlahović

After averaging 1.9 goals per game in the Qualifying round, the Serbia frontline becomes much more appealing. Some may be looking to target the fixtures against Slovenia and Denmark and they should do that with penalty taker Dušan Vlahović (7.5m).

It has been another solid season for Dušan Vlahović at Juventus after scoring 16 goals and creating four assists in Serie A. He has also been extremely impressive for country as well – bagging a goal in his two World Cup games, a goal and an assist in his two Nations League matches and three goals in his five EURO Qualifiers. With that, Vlahović cements his name amongst the EURO 2024 Fantasy Serbia top picks.

One to Watch

Serbia have several attacking players they tend to rotate which can be frustrating when picking one of them. This is exactly why Aleksandar Mitrović (€7m) takes his place in the one to watch list and not the top picks.

Monitoring his minutes during the friendlies could be key. After all, we do not want to completely side-line Aleksandar Mitrović after scoring a massive 28 goals and creating another five via assists for club last season. He wasn’t short of explosive form in the EURO Qualifiers either as he netted five goals and registered one assist in seven starts.
