EURO 2024 Fantasy Poland Top Picks

In this article we take a look at the EURO 2024 Fantasy Poland top picks. Here we touch upon the recent form of Poland, how they achieved qualification, highlight their best picks, and anything else of relevance.

Our EURO 2024 Fantasy Poland top picks could be crucial for managers. Knowing how a team has been performing recently can be helpful. But, knowing who the best picks from each team can be essential for the tournament ahead.

Poland have been mixed in terms of form over the last several years. In fact it wasn’t too long ago that they progressed into the round of 16 during the 2022 World Cup. However, their journey ended shortly after seeing off Mexico and Saudi Arabia in the Group Stage by eventual finalists France.

Their recent Nations League campaign was also poor. Although they edged fourth place Wales they Poland fell short and placed third in the Group. There they netted six goals, conceded a huge 12 goals, and lost half of their matches.

Poland were also hugely questionable in their EURO 2024 Qualifying Group, failing to advance via the top two places. As we can see below, Poland won three, drew two and lost three. They also scored 10 goals, conceded 10 goals and kept four clean sheets.

Fortunately for them, Poland progressed via the play-offs, squeezing through in the final after a penalty shootout against Wales.

Poland are yet to play since their play-off final so their recent form consists of five wins, three draws and two losses. During that period they racked up 16 goals with a 1.6 goal per game average, and five clean sheets.

EURO 2024 Fixtures

Poland head into a tough Group, starting with a fixture against 2022 World Cup quarter-finalists Netherlands. The Dutch have lots of quality and they proved it in their recent Qualifiers – winning six of their eight matches, scoring 17 goals and keeping five clean sheets.

Poland then go onto face arguably their easiest fixture of the Group Stage. Austria have also been inconsistent in recent competitions but they have also won a huge eight of their last 10 matches. Some of the teams they recently beat include Türkiye, Serbia, Germany and Sweden.

They then end their Group stage campaign with a meeting with France. France need no introduction. A recent World Cup final is enough to worry any opposition but they also stormed their Qualifying Group – finishing top, scoring a whopping 29 goals and conceding just three goals.

Top Picks – Jan Bednarek

Poland seem to be tightening up defensively going off the five clean sheets they picked up in their last 10 matches in all competitions. This could mean investing in their defence may not be as bad is it originally sounded.

Cheap players are going to be extremely important for fantasy managers and Jan Bednarek (€4m) may just offer exactly that. Bednarek has seen plenty of success recently, his promotion to the Premier League with English Club Southampton being a good example of that.

Bednarek also scored in his 23/24 campaign, twice in fact. When comparing all Poland defenders during the Qualifiers Bednarek also edged all but one of his teammates for non-penalty expected goal involvement.

Przemysław Frankowski

Poland use a back-three system which gives their wing-backs the freedom to bomb forward and advance into some of the most dangerous positions on the pitch. Our next pick, Przemysław Frankowski (€4.5m) is one of those wing-backs.

Straight away we can see from his heatmap that Przemysław Frankowski has the versatility to play on both flanks if needed. We can also see that he spends most of his time attacking the oppositions half, something we want from all of our wing-backs.

As well as scoring three goals and creating two assists for club last season Frankowski also picked up a goal and an assist during the EURO Qualifiers. When comparing his attacking data with all of his Poland teammates during the Qualifiers he ranks second best for chances created (15), the best for big chances created (three) and the best for non-penalty expected goal involved (3.83), yes you guessed it, more than Robert Lewandowski himself.

Robert Lewandowski

Poland have also proven themselves offensively too and one player immediately stands out when it comes to their frontline.

Robert Lewandowski (€9m) has been one of the best strikers in Europe for some years now. After scoring 23 goals and producing seven assists in his first La Liga season with Barcelona, the 35-year-old then followed that up with 19 goals and eight assists in the 23/24 season.

Lewandowski isn’t just a top club player but he is also crucial to his country. As well as being the designated penalty taker he also contributed towards five goals in his nine EURO Qualifying matches. Spearheading the Poland attack and given his relentless form, Lewandowski breezes into the EURO 2024 Fantasy Poland top picks.

One to Watch – Jakub Piotrowski

EURO 2024 Fantasy is slightly lacking in cheap enabling midfielder picks. So, the player to watch from Poland could well be midfielder Jakub Piotrowski (€5.5m). Although predominantly a central midfielder Piotrowski racked up 11 goals and four assists in his domestic league campaign last season.

Jakub Piotrowski has also proven to be extremely effective for Poland as well. In fact, in his four features during the Qualifiers he scored two goals and created one assist. Two of those goal contributions came in a recent play-off game.
