EURO 2024 Fantasy France Top Picks

In this article we take a look at the EURO 2024 Fantasy France top picks. Here we touch upon the recent form of France, how they achieved qualification, highlight their best picks, and anything else of relevance.

Our EURO 2024 Fantasy France top picks could be crucial for managers. Knowing how a team has been performing recently can be helpful. But, knowing who the best picks from each team can be essential for the tournament ahead.

France have been fantastic over recent years and it was their recent 2022 World Cup where they really excelled. As well as topping their Group France beat Poland, England and Morocco to advance all of the way to the final. There they fell short but they took Argentina to a penalty shootout before their exit.

Similar to several other stronger teams around Europe France flopped in their recent Nations League campaign, finishing third in their Group and seven points behind second place Denmark.

As we can see in the image above, France also blitzed their EURO Qualifying Group. In fact they won a huge seven of their eight matches whilst also racking up 29 goals, conceding just three goals and keeping a brilliant six clean sheets.

Recent form also backs the French after winning six of their last 10 matches. Interestingly the two matches they lost were both against Germany.

EURO 2024 Fixtures

France start their journey against Austria in Matchday 1. Austria were impressive in the Qualifiers, finishing second in the Group and just one point behind Belgium. They also won a huge seven of their last 10 matches in all competitions.

Arguably their toughest game in the Group comes against Netherlands. What is interesting is that both teams also competed in the same Qualifying Group in which Netherlands placed four points behind France.

France then face a fixture against Poland who squeezed through in the Qualifying play-offs. Poland have also won just three of their last eight matches, maintaining some questionable form.

Top Picks – Jules Kounde

France go into the tournament as one of several favourites and it isn’t just their frontline reflecting that. Six clean sheets and three goals conceded highlights just how good their defence has been.

The France centre-backs seem prone to rotation or at the very least, there are some question marks around them. For that reason we should look to their full-backs.

Jules Kounde (€5m) looks set to start at right-back and he also comes in as the cheapest route into the backline. Although not prolific offensively, he can offer some threat as he scored and assisted twice in La Liga last season.

The Barcelona man averages around 5.0 ball recoveries per game based off his recent domestic season and EURO Qualifiers. Taking that, his price and clean sheet potential into account, Kounde could be an excellent value for money pick.

Theo Hernandez

Not many players are more secure in terms of minutes for France than left-back Theo Hernandez (€5.5m). The Milan full-back has had another brilliant season for club, contributing to five goals, four assists and10 clean sheets.

Hernandez has also shown his attacking potential for country over the years too. In his most recent World Cup Hernandez scored and registered two assists in just five starts. One assist in his EURO Qualifying matches suggests a huge underperformance by Hernandez but with a goal and an assist in his last three matches for club, he goes into the tournament in great offensive form.

Kylian Mbappe

Buying into a France frontline who sustained a whopping 3.6 goals scored per game in Qualifying is going to be crucial for EURO Fantasy managers.

France have several good options but their standout player is non other than in-game forward Kylian Mbappe (€11m). Mbappe needs no introduction but after finishing his latest season at PSG with 27 goals and seven assists in Ligue 1 and eight goals in just 12 Champions League matches, his consistency is there for all to see.

It won’t come as a surprise that Mbappe is also very effective for France. The penalty taker notched up a massive nine goals and five assists in just eight EURO Qualifiers. You may also remember back to his recent World Cup campaign where he bagged eight goals and two assists in just seven matches.

Mbappe doesn’t just ease into the EURO 2024 Fantasy France top picks but he could also be considered essential for the upcoming tournament.

Antoine Griezmann

Kylian Mbappe will likely be owned by most of the game. This is going to make it very difficult to actually gain from the France attack by selecting just him.

Another in-game forward we shouldn’t rule out is Antoine Griezmann (€9m). The 33-year-old continues to light up La Liga, scoring 16 goals and mustering up six assists in his latest 33 games last season. He is still proving himself on the big stage and his six goals and one assist in 10 Champions League matches shows reflects that.

In terms of his France performances Griezmann has been been short with just one goal and one assist in the Qualifiers and three assists in his recent World Cup campaign. However, Griezmann goes into the new tournament with set plays and domestic form backing him.

One to Watch

France lack in convincing midfield options which is a huge shame considering their attacking quality. That is just another factor pushing us towards someone like Olivier Giroud (€8m).

Now 37 years of age, some may be slightly put off, but after a huge 15 goals and eight assists for Serie A team Milan last season, it is safe to see he’s still got it.

Recent international tournaments reinforces the above. Giroud netted four times in his six 2022 World Cup matches, then went onto produce three goals and one assist in eight EURO Qualifiers. Monitoring his minutes during the friendlies prior to the EURO’s could be hugely beneficial if considering him.
