EURO 2024 Fantasy England Top Picks

In this article we take a look at the EURO 2024 Fantasy England top picks. Here we touch upon the recent form of England, how they achieved qualification, highlight their best picks, and anything else of relevance.

Our EURO 2024 Fantasy England top picks could be crucial for managers. Knowing how a team has been performing recently can be helpful. But, knowing who the best picks from each team can be essential for the tournament ahead.

England have been excellent over recent years but have also arguably under-performed. Their most recent EURO tournament saw them progress all of the way to the final but eventually lost to Italy on penalties.

They then made it to the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup after racking up 13 goals, four goals conceded and three clean sheets. France proved a task too difficult however, turning around a 1-0 deficit to win 2-1.

After making what seemed to be great progress in recent competitions England then finished rock bottom of their Nations League Group. In fact they failed to win any of their six matches against Germany, Hungary and Italy.

England bounced back in their EURO 2024 Qualifiers, topping the Group with six wins, remaining unbeaten throughout, scoring a huge 22 goals and keeping four clean sheets.

England then played friendlies against Brazil and Belgium. They fell short against Belgium in a 1-0 loss but then held Brazil to a 2-2 draw in London.

EURO 2024 Fixtures

England start their EURO 2024 journey with a fixture against Serbia. Serbia finished rock bottom of their 2022 World Cup Group and placed four points behind Hungary in the EURO Qualifying rounds.

Denmark should be their toughest opposition during the Group stage. The Danes were awful in the 2022 World Cup but then impressed in their recent Nations League campaign finishing above France whilst also placing first in their EURO Qualifying Group.

England end their Group Stage with a fixture against Slovenia who flopped in their recent World Cup Qualifiers and Nations League Group. They did however impress in EURO Qualifying, just falling short of first place Denmark in the Group due to their head-to-head record.

Top Picks – Jordan Pickford

Considering their recent defensive record and the fact they have an easier Group, investing in the England defence should be top of your shopping list. The lack of convincing goalkeeper options in the game also contributes to the appeal of Jordan Pickford (€5m).

Jordan Pickford has been England’ number one for some years now and there is reason for that. In his most recent Premier League season Pickford helped his Everton side keep the second most clean sheets. He also ended his season as the highest scoring goalkeeper in Premier League Fantasy.

Harry Maguire

England also have some great defender options for those looking to fill their backline. The standout appears to be Harry Maguire (€5m). Maguire appears to have somewhat revived his career at Manchester United recently which has reassured his position at centre-back for England.

Maguire offers multiple routes to points in EURO Fantasy and ball recoveries are just one of them. His 5.9 ball recoveries per game average during the EURO Qualifiers is a good example of that.

Maguire can also be a considerable goal threat as well. In fact, in his final three matches of the season for Manchester United he scored twice. For country, he also netted four times during his six World Cup Qualifying matches.

Bukayo Saka

With an average of 3.9 goals scored per game in the World Cup Qualifying matches and 2.8 in EURO Qualifying, buying into the England frontline could be considered essential. This is especially when considering some of the questionable defences they will come up against.

Unlike midfielders Phil Foden (€9m) and Jude Bellingham (€9.5m), Bukayo Saka’ (€8.5m) position is set on the right flank. Similar to the other two options Saka has also had an excellent season for club after scoring 16 goals and registering nine assists.

Another factor separating Saka to both Foden and Bellingham is that he also has better international output. In his five World Cup Qualifiers Saka managed three goals and an assist. He then went on to bag another four goals and two assists in just seven EURO Qualifiers. Because of the above Saka is an essential amongst the EURO 2024 Fantasy England top picks.

Harry Kane

Owning the focal point and penalty taker of the England frontline could well be non-negotiable in the upcoming campaign. The Bayern striker just finished his domestic campaign with a seismic 36 goals and eight assists in the Bundesliga.

Kane isn’t just a consistent club striker, he has also been relentless for England. Kane amassed a huge 12 goals and two assists in his recent World Cup Qualifiers. He topped that campaign off with another eight goals and two assists in just eight EURO Qualifiers.

Ones to Watch – Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden

Both Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham have some question marks over their position which means it could be best to monitor them for now.

Foden goes into the competition after claiming the Premier League Player of the Season award, that came with the help of 19 goals and eight assists for Manchester City. Although playing in a more central/right sided role for club, he may play on the left flank for England and that could raise doubts over his output.

Bellingham was also brilliant in his 23/24 campaign. Not only did he finish the season with 19 goals and six assists but he also claimed a La Liga and Champions League title. Bellingham played just behind the striker for club and that could continue for England, or he could end up playing a much deeper role.
