We take a look at the best picks from Man United for Double Gameweek 34.
When FPL managers invested in Manchester United assets for Gameweek 33 they were hoping for the type of performance Cristiano Ronaldo put on. With a hattrick against Norwich he provided 17 points for his FPL owners.
However, with a lot of rumour surrounding Manchester United including the appointment of a new manager.
As well as lots of rhetoric surrounding the captaincy. Therefore are Manchester United the best investment ahead of the Double Gameweek?
Underlying Stats
Manchester United assets were key targets for many managers, especially those on a Free Hit, as a result of the Double Gameweek in 33. However, with the exception of Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Elanga the United assets all failed to return.
Over the course of the 2021/22 season Ronaldo is top for attacking returns at United with 18. He is also top for bonus points, double digit hauls, goal attempts, big chances and penalty area touches.
Bruno Fernandes has returned four more FPL points this season than Ronaldo, however he has started seven games more.
However, for many FPL managers owning Ronaldo will likely mean not owning Harry Kane. This is because funding two premium forwards is difficult with many managers team structures.
The Fantasy Football Scout members area highlights a golf in the underlying stats between Ronaldo and Kane.
Ronaldo has scored more goals this season as a whole than Kane. However, when we look at the data for the last 10 Gameweeks Kane far exceeds the Portuguese international, with the exception of Bonus Points.
Manchester United have scored 52 goals this season. This is less than the teams that the other premium assets play for.
They have only kept seven clean sheets so far this season, only six teams in the league have kept less.
The underlying stats therefore suggest that Ronaldo is the most likely to return of all of the United picks. However, his price compared to other assets in the game makes him and United less attractive FPL options. Even ahead of a Double Gameweek.
Ownership for Double Gameweek 34
Ronaldo is the most heavily owned player in the Manchester Untied squad. The forward is currently owned by 19.4% of FPL managers. Bruno Fernandes is the second most popular asset owned by 16.4% of the game. In addition only injured Luke Shaw and goalkeeper David De Gea are owned by over 10% of the game. They are owned by 11.2% and 10.6% respectively.

Fernandes is the acceptation to the rule. The United midfielder is owned by 26.46% of FPL managers in the top 10k. This may be as he was an easier buy than trying to fund both Ronaldo and Harry Kane in the same FPL forward line.
