Double Gameweek 25 Announcement

The Premier League have today announced two rescheduled fixtures. Gameweek 25 was already a gameweek that FPL managers had on their radar with two less fixtures as a result of the EFL Cup Final. Now Gameweek 25 will see four teams play twice as well as four teams blanking. We take a look at what the double gameweek 25 announcement means.

The Premier League have today announced that two fixtures will be played in the midweek of Gameweek 25. Liverpool v Wolves and Arsenal v Everton will be played on March 1st.

What does this mean for FPL managers?

Managers were already starting to sell their Manchester United assets ahead of their blank in Gameweek 25. However, today’s announcement will make owning three Arsenal assets even more attractive. Arsenal will play twice in Gameweek 23 and play twice in Gameweek 25. This will make many managers more confident in selling the likes of Bruno Fernandes for Bukayo Saka.

FPL managers may also want to consider investing in Everton. The blue side of Merseyside showed some new manager bounce in Gameweek 22. They also have a really nice run of fixtures which now has the added benefit of a double gameweek in Gameweek 25. Managers could look at the likes of James Tarkowski as a good budget friendly defender.

Liverpool assets were popular sells for managers as a result of their lack of form. However, with two matches in Gameweek 25 Liverpool assets could be worth holding for FPL managers.
