Gameweek 23 Review

Gameweek 23 was nothing short of a disaster. In hindsight, Danny Ings captain paid off over Jamie Vardy, but it was disappointing to see Raul Jimenez grab the big points the week I’ve sold him.

Liverpool managed to redeem the situation late on Sunday afternoon, with yet another clean sheet and bonus for Trent Alexander-Arnold from an assist, plus a last ditch Salah goal. Keep your shirt on!

Gameweek 24 Team

Two free transfers provided flexibility for Gameweek 24, with a Liverpool triple up already locked in. Lys Mousset was on the chopping block, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin the favoured replacement under £6.0 million.

Funds were required to make the move, with Soyuncu making way to free up an extra £0.5 million. Mason Holgate comes in ahead of great fixtures. Leicester attackers live to survive one more week.

It’s the obvious time to play the Triple Captain chip this week, as the best side in the league play twice. I’d rather deploy it now with a big gap between games and plenty to play for, than gamble for a “better” opportunity that may not materialise.

Ultimately, it was a choice between Salah and Mane, with Trent avoided due to his defender status, despite his form. Mane has marginally better output this season and crucially away from home.
