Crystal Palace Top Picks for FPL 2024/25

Last modified date

Fantasy Premier League has launched for another season. For that reason we continue to cover each team in the build up to the start of the new campaign. In this article we take a look at the Crystal Palace top picks for FPL 2024/25.

Picking out the Crystal Palace top picks for FPL 2024/25 could be really helpful for managers. The Eagles could be one of several teams with the potential to offer some great value for money assets this season, so let’s see what we can find.

Crystal Palace were disappointing for a large proportion of last season. However, the appointment of Oliver Glasner was a significant one and a successful end to the campaign meant a boost and a 10th place finish.

24/25 Starting Fixtures

Below we can see the Fantasy Football Scout Fixture Ticker. The Eagles rank third on the fixture ticker which suggests they have the third easiest fixtures in the first six matches.

Crystal Palace Defence

Crystal Palace finished 10th last season. But they impressed defensively from a statistical perspective, ranking (best):

  • 5th – Goals conceded
  • 5th – Clean sheets
  • 4th – Expected goals conceded
  • 7th – Total shots in the box conceded
  • 4th – Total shots on target conceded
  • 11th – Big chances conceded

Comparing the Crystal Palace Defensive Players

Comparing all of the Crystal Palace defensive assets is crucial in picking out the best options. With that in mind we take a look at their minutes and attacking threat.

Centre-back Joachim Anderson (£4.5m) played a huge 3415 minutes last season. Tyrick Mitchell (£5m) also managed 3000+ minutes last season.

Chris Richards (£4.5m) and Marc Guehi (£4.5m) were the only other two players to play 2000+ minutes.

Right-back Daniel Munoz (£5m) joined Crystal Palace in January and still racked up 16 starts.

Keeping top spot when it comes to attacking threat is Anderson who managed five attacking returns, teammate Mitchell matched that.

Interestingly Munoz who started 22 matches less than Anderson still banked four goal contributions.

Conclusion

Joachim Anderson seems to be the standout defensive option considering his price, attacking threat and gametime.

Goalkeeper Dean Henderson (£4.5m) could also be a cheap and reliable route into the Crystal Palace defence.

For managers willing to pay £0.5m extra then Daniel Munoz could be an excellent option taking into account his high attacking potential.

Crystal Palace Attack

Crystal Palace impressed defensively but they weren’t as convincing offensively, ranking (best):

  • 9th – Goals scored
  • 16th – Expected goals
  • 14th – Total attempts on goal
  • 15th – Shots in the box
  • 16th – Big chances total
  • 12th – Total attempts on target

Comparing the Attackers

As we can see no Crystal Palace attacker managed more than 3000 minutes when it came to minutes.

Winger Jordan Ayew (£5.5m) played the most minutes with 2560. He is closely followed by striker Jean-Phillipe Mateta (£7.5m) who racked up 2329 minutes.

Eberechi Eze (£7m) played just 2054 minutes, mostly due to injury. Another player plagued by injury was fellow midfielder Michael Olise who has departed the club to join Bayern.

When it comes to attacking returns nobody managed more than Mateta with 23.

Eze and the now departed Olise both banked an impressive 16 returns.

Ayew may have played the most minutes but he fell well short of the others with just 11 attacking returns.

Additional Notes

New signing and in-game midfielder Daichi Kamada (£5.5m) could become a very good asset. The Japanese international has not just started two pre-season games but has also scored.

Conclusion

Based on penalty duty, minutes played, position and attacking threat the standout attacking option is Eberechi Eze.

For those looking for a forward option then look no further than Jean-Phillipe Mateta who was hugely explosive at the end of last season in terms of attacking returns.

One potentially interesting option could well be Daichi Kamada who has impressed already for Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace Top Picks

After comparing all players for both minutes and attacking potential the Crystal Palace Top Picks for FPL 2024/25 are:

  • Eberechi Eze
  • Joachim Anderson
  • Dean Henderson
  • Daniel Munoz
  • Jean Phillipe Mateta
