Could FPL be changing?

With the new Fantasy Premier League season on the horizon could FPL be changing? Many within community believe changes are afoot and the latest message from the Official Fantasy Premier League website is another indicator of that.

The FPL season ended some weeks ago and already managers are already discussing potential changes. This comes shortly after officials suggested there were changes coming on a recent YouTube video. So, is FPL changing?

The game is updating

As we can below the Official Fantasy Premier League website is displaying an updating message. They also add that they are currently carrying out essential updates to prepare for the 23/24 season.

New Format news

Fantasy Football Scout contributor FPL Focal released earlier news that there could be a format change coming to FPL. Some questioned whether the changes could be an entirely different game aside from the original format or if the game was changing its rules.

Others are hoping for FPL to make central midfielders more attractive for managers by adding ball recoveries. Some are also yearning for a change to the chips with the UCL Fantasy chip Limitless being amongst the ideas suggested.

Community reaction?

Fantasy Football Scout contributor @FPLGeneral was one of the first to react to the news of the update. Whilst some suggest that the game could be merely updating prices others believe a new format is coming so excitement is rife.
