Community Team Reveal Gameweek 8 – Ryan (Football Chatbox)
Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.
Ahead of Gameweek 8, it’s the turn of Ryan (Football Chatbox) to tell us what he is doing to his team.
Hi Ryan and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 7 go?
Everything that could go wrong in Gameweek 7 did go wrong. I ended up with 36 points and, if not for my Carlton Morris captaincy, it would have been a lot worse. But I ended with a massive red arrow and am now ranked at 2.3 million overall.
What does your defence look like?
It was looking okay for this week, with Destiny Udogie, Matty Cash and Pervis Estupinan. But the latter is now injured for a month. I don’t really have bench cover, with Sven Botman injured and Issa Kabore facing Spurs.
In goal, there are problems with Andre Onana and Matt Turner. Man United are looking poor but I’m planning on a Gameweek 10 Wildcard so, until then, I will need to stick with the current two.
Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?
I’ve got problems here too, as there are too many passengers in my team. It seems like I should Wildcard this week but I’ve been away on vacation and haven’t been able to keep up with much football. So I don’t feel confident playing such a powerful chip without doing more research. Additionally, I feel that a hit can get me a better team that will last until Gameweek 10.
So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 8 and beyond?
Right now I’ve got Bryan Mbuemo, Marcus Rashford and Joao Pedro as the main issues. You could add Phil Foden to this list, as Man City enter a tough run of fixtures. So, these players will need to move soon.
For the moment, I’m thinking of trying to buy Son Heung-min and the only way I can do that is if I remove Rashford and take a hit, as I’m currently short of that transfer by about £0.3m. The identity of that second player is still uncertain. I’m most likely going to have to wait till the deadline to decide on that.
Finally, what about captaincy?
If I do get Son the armband will go to him. Otherwise, it’s between James Maddison and Mohamed Salah for the moment.
