Community Team Reveal Gameweek 33 – FPL ElStatto
Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.
Ahead of Gameweek 33, it’s the turn of FPL ElStatto to tell us what is happening to his team.
Hi ElStatto and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 32 go?
Currently sitting at 419k after a run of seven green arrows over the past eight weeks. Having played my Wildcard in Gameweek 30, I have a Bench Boost remaining and will look to activate it in either Double 34 or 37. I’m still undecided on precisely when.
What does your defence look like?
I’ve been rotating my goalkeepers since the Wildcard and, so far, have selected the right one each week. This time, I’ve opted for Andre Onana away to Bournemouth. I don’t think either will keep a clean sheet to be honest but Man United concede a lot of shots, so hopefully he picks up some save points.
In defence, I’ve switched Conor Bradley to Virgil van Dijk ahead of Double Gameweek 34, to give myself some certainty over playing time. With Trent Alexander-Arnold back in training, Bradley could find himself benched for both.
Malo Gusto and Gabriel both have home outings, ensuring they get the nod over Jarrad Branthwaite even though the latter bagged a clean sheer for me last week. Chelsea don’t produce such shut-outs but I’m hoping for attacking returns from Gusto. As for Gabriel, he’s largely keeping pace with team-mate William Saliba and I felt the saving in price is worth missing out on a few bonus points.
Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?
I’ve gone big in midfield and all five are at home, making me optimistic about good things from them. It’d be nice if Phil Foden could shake off his dead leg and continue his recent form.
Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland continue up top. Both have good-looking matches and, while they aren’t heavily scoring, attacking returns are coming in. My biggest worry is rotation.
So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 33 and beyond?
As I have two free transfers to use, I’m bringing Kai Havertz in a week earlier than planned for Son Heung-min. Playing up top, Havertz has steadily been recording goals and assists in recent weeks.
Finally, what about captaincy?
The armband is currently on Haaland and will remain there unless we get an indication that he might be rested versus Luton. I’m hoping to break into the top 300k this week and feel I’m set up nicely with a good mix of double and single players ahead of Double Gameweek 34.
