Community Team Reveal Gameweek 29 – Ryan (Football Chatbox)

Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.

Ahead of Gameweek 29, it’s the turn of Ryan (Football Chatbox) to tell us what he is doing to his team.

Hi Ryan and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 28 go?

Gameweek 28 went alright with a small green arrow but I captained Gabriel Martinelli instead of Bukayo Saka. A score of 53 points took me to 568k overall.

What does your defence look like?

Currently, I’m thinking about playing the Bench Boost, so the defence currently has double Newcastle, Pervis Estupinan, Rico Henry and soon it’ll be Luke Shaw instead of Gabriel. It’s a template back line although some managers have Ben Chilwell there instead. Goalkeepers are also straightforward.

Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?

In midfield, I moved Solly March out for James Maddison last week and I expect that to pay off over the next few weeks. I’ve currently got a double Arsenal midfield and have a question on what to do with them.

I’m currently planning on keeping Saka but selling Martinelli for Bruno Fernandes. While I captained the Brazilian last week, I wasn’t impressed with him playing out too wide and now that Gabriel Jesus is back, minutes are going to be an issue between these and Trossard. Emile Smith Rowe has also returned, adding to the problem.

Up front, I’ve got Harry Kane and Erling Haaland as single gameweek players but one needs removing to fund Fernandes. Meanwhile, I’m happy to keep Ivan Toney and hope he can play out both games without getting that tenth booking.

So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 29 and beyond?

Right now, I’m leaning towards moving Kane out for another forward, unless we get news that Haaland is not going to play. That plus Shaw and Fernandes.

For the options that would come in, currently I’m toying between Ollie Watkins and Alexander Isak. The former probably has slightly better fixtures but the latter is cheaper and that could be key. If I was to put myself in a position to maybe get Mohamed Salah for Gameweek 31, then it’d need to be Isak so that I can afford to move Fernandes to Salah.

Finally, what about captaincy?

This week’s is tough to pick. I currently like the options of Marcus Rashford, Kaoru Mitoma or Maddison, as I think they could all do well this week. Then there’s the really differential idea of Fernandes who also tends to do well in double gameweeks.

For now, the armband is on Rashford as he has performed for me when I’ve previously given him the armband. I feel confident to give it to him again, with Mitoma being my vice.
