Community Team Reveal Gameweek 27 – FPL Inzaghi
Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.
Ahead of Gameweek 27, it’s the turn of FPL Inzaghi (Ryan) to tell us what he is doing to his team.
Hi Ryan and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 26 go?
Do we have to?
Pain, pain and more pain! It brought 29 points, a gameweek rank of over nine million and my fifth successive red arrow, dropping from 72k to 209k.
I played my Wildcard, looking to load up on Brighton and Brentford. Unlike other uses of this chip, I planned on a Gameweek 27 Bench Boost but Robert Sanchez’s shock benching has ended that plan quicker than Sam Allardyce as England manager.
However, despite the record-breaking nightmare, my team is set up well for the upcoming weeks.
What does your defence look like?
Double Brentford and double Newcastle defence. David Raya and Rico Henry are popular double-ups and have nice matches against Everton and Southampton. Despite both being away, I can see one clean sheet take place.
I’ve chosen to start both Kieran Trippier and Fabian Schar over Gabriel and Oleksandr Zinchenko. Wolves (H) is a better fixture than Fulham (a) and I’m not concerned about playing both. If there’s any doubt over Schar’s availability, Zinchenko will come in.
Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?
Kaoru Mitoma and Solly March are my Brighton midfielders of choice. Although Alexis Mac Allister hauled last week, both returns came via set pieces and I’ve got no desire to switch anyone to the Argentinian. Marcus Rashford plays at home against Southampton, with 11 of his 14 goals coming at Old Trafford this season.
Rounding out the midfield is Bukyao Saka versus a Joao Palhinha-less Fulham. Up front, it’s Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Ivan Toney.
So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 27 and beyond?
I’m rolling my free transfer this week, although I could shift Sanchez to Jason Steele if I want to Bench Boost. But I’m not convinced that Steele will remain the first choice up to and beyond Gameweek 29.
Looking at next week’s team, I’ll have ten players so can use one transfer to reach 11, then have two heading into the big Double Gameweek 29. Using a transfer this week would limit me in 29 when I want to maximise my Bench Boost points.
Finally, what about captaincy?
Toney for me. Brighton’s attacking stats are better than Brentford’s but I can’t be sure of which route the points will come from. Whereas with Brentford, Toney has been involved in 45% of their goals this season – it’s clear he is their talisman.
Mitoma comes close but I like that Toney is on set-pieces and central to everything Brentford do.
Good luck and thank you for the team reveal!
No problem. I’ll update my team on Twitter and on my YouTube channel – give me a follow, I’d love to meet you and chat FPL!
