Community Team Reveal Gameweek 2 – FPL ElStatto
Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.
Ahead of Gameweek 2, it’s the turn of FPL ElStatto to tell us what is happening to his team.
Hi ElStatto and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 1 go?
My squad returned 79 points in Gameweek 1 and I’m sticking with the same squad.
What does your defence look like?
I’ve opted to go for Matt Turner over Andre Onana in goal, with Nottingham Forest at home to Sheffield United hopefully offering a better chance of a clean sheet than Man United away to Spurs.
In defence, it’s the same three as last time. Pervis Estupinan looked great and contributed an assist, as did William Saliba – not that I’m expecting attacking returns each week! Nathan Ake just got the nod ahead of Levi Colwill, although he’ll likely become Ben Chilwell in Gameweek 3.
Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?
My Man United midfield duo failed to deliver against Wolves but have another opportunity at Spurs. I had planned to replace one of them in Gameweek 3, so they’re facing off against each other. On the other hand, my double Arsenal looked good against Forest and their run of fixtures means they will form the basis of my midfield for the foreseeable future.
In Gameweek 1, I left Joao Pedro on the bench and opted for Eberechi Eze instead but the Brazilian comes in against Wolves this time. Being on penalties is a great bonus for a £5.5m forward from an exciting and attacking Brighton team. If he continues to start it might allow me to redistribute my cash and sell Nicolas Jackson to get Mohamed Salah in.
So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 2 and beyond?
As mentioned, I plan on carrying this free transfer and getting Chilwell for Ake in Gameweek 3. Then, depending on the performance of my Man United duo, switch one to Richarlison or James Maddison. Also, I need to work on a route to Salah, just in case.
Finally, what about captaincy?
My armband this week goes to Haaland. It’s a tricky game versus Newcastle but he’s Erling Haaland and he can score against anyone.
