Community Team Reveal Gameweek 16 – FPL Inzaghi

Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.

Ahead of Gameweek 16, it’s the turn of FPL Inzaghi (Ryan) to tell us what he is doing to his team.

Hi Ryan and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 15 go?

It went well. I scored 75 points, resulting in a nice green arrow from 580k to around 280k which puts me 21 points outside the top 100k.

Captain Mohamed Salah scored twice at Spurs, with further returns from Kieran Trippier, Andreas Pereira and James Justin.

What does your defence look like?

With representation from Arsenal, Man City and Newcastle, I feel confident about my defence’s clean sheet prospects. Trippier has been a sensation this season and is the highest-scoring defender by some distance. At this rate, he’s a season-keeper.

Joao Cancelo is available after serving his suspension in the Carabao Cup and Ben White comes up against a Wolves team that has scored the fewest goals in the league this season with just eight from 14 outings.

Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?

The midfield four contains Salah, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Phil Foden. Frustratingly, the latter has been benched in the last three Premier League matches. An unused substitute during the midweek cup win, I’m actually confident that he starts this time. All four players have nice Gameweek 16 fixtures and have a high ceiling for points.

Up front, I’ve already made one transfer, selling Aleksandar Mitrovic for Dominic Solanke. I made the move before their respective price changes, to preserve £0.2m.

I was already confident that Mitrovic would miss Gameweek 16 to allow him more recovery time for Serbia’s World Cup opener against Brazil. Reports have since emerged saying his foot injury is more serious than first thought.

So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 16?

After an involuntary rolling of last week’s free transfer, I have two for this week. The second will likely turn Ivan Toney into Darwin Nunez. With a shot inside the box every 14 minutes and a non-penalty expected goal involvement (NPxGI) of 0.87 per 90 – just behind Erling Haaland (0.99) – coming up against a struggling Southampton side makes Darwin a great one-week punt, in my opinion.

His playing time has been insecure so far (only completing 90 mins in two out of nine appearances) but with team-mate injuries and a recent Liverpool formation change, I back him to start against the Saints.

Finally, what about captaincy?

Haaland starts with the captain’s armband. If we get news that he isn’t starting, it will go to Salah – I certainly won’t be selling or benching Haaland. He demonstrated last Saturday that he can be lethal even with limited minutes.

Good luck and thank you for the team reveal!
