Community Team Reveal Gameweek 10 – Toby Bryant
Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.
Ahead of Gameweek 10, it’s the turn of Toby Bryant to tell us what is happening to his team.
Hi Toby and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 9 go?
I was pleased with how it went. No transfers were made over the international break as I felt there was more I could do with two this week. I think that proved wise. 75 points in total, enough to shunt me up the overall leaderboard but a few mini-league pals still outscored me and pulled further away.
Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-Min did much of the heavy lifting but Pedro Porro banking a clean sheet (whilst Destiny Udogie didn’t) and five points from autosub Elijah Adebayo were also welcome.
What does your defence look like?
Going into Gameweek 10, I’ve got Robert Sanchez in goal with Matt Turner on the bench. I’m not overwhelmed by that rotation but also not in a hurry to spend transfers changing it. Matty Cash, Pedro Porro and Dan Burn are currently all starting but I’ll be moving Botman on this week.
Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?
As well as Salah and Son, I’ve got a couple of template midfield picks in Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden. Up front, it’s Erling Haaland and Rasmus Hojlund, with Adebayo and Sasa Lukic being the bench fodder options. After owning Hojlund for four Gameweeks, I think my patience has just about run out with the Red Devils’ new signing.
So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 10 and beyond?
I’ll certainly be using both of my two free transfers this week with Botman’s injury dragging on and Hojlund getting the boot despite his fixtures looking tasty after the Manchester derby. Ollie Watkins is the obvious pick for the latter, as Villa are at home to Luton Town.
That would leave just £4.1m to replace Botman, so I’ll likely take a rare four-point hit and lose Foden too. The incoming combo is still up in the air but I’m tempted by Arsenal’s Gabriel and then one of Moussa Diaby, Kaoru Mitoma or even Anthony Gordon.
Finally, what about captaincy?
I think it’ll be Haaland. Although Salah against Nottingham Forest at Anfield – on his current form – is a great option, I always fear a monster haul from the Norweigan. With Man United so inconsistent, he could rise to the derby occasion.
