Community Reactions to news of an extra Free Hit Fantasy Football Community

It was announced on Wednesday afternoon that all FPL managers will be awarded a second, unexpected Free Hit in response to the recent chaos of Covid-stricken Premier League action that has seen many matches postponed.

Reaction amongst the FPL community seems mixed, so we’ve gathered some of it below:

Gut reaction is the chip wasn't needed and it's just pandering to those that complain on Twitter.

Also think it makes the advantage for those that held less, even if the advantage is still there.

But overall I'll just get on with it and see how we get on as it's done now ?

With the extra Free Hit an early wildcard becomes a better option, if we get DGWs in both 21 and 22.

WC in DGW 21
BB in DGW 22

FH 1 in BGW 30
FH 2 in DGW 36

One to consider for sure.

I've mixed feelings about the FH but also, I didn't have any definite plans in mind yet either. I didn't see how I could plan until perhaps after this GW. But now I feel I was perhaps a step or two behind with all this talk of plans being torn up. I'd just planned to plan.

I don’t understand the annoyance. If you are already well placed for DGW22 then keep the FH for 30 and 36.

Being a free hit chip up others is a massive advantage.

Thank you @OfficialFPL for making this a game more about identifying and picking 'good players' rather than a long drawn permutation combination equation (I enjoy that too but I comfortably enjoy the football player picking more).

Immediate reaction is this removes a large amount of the strategy for the upcoming #GW21 and #GW22 doubles. Those saying it gives an unfair advantage to managers that have already played their FH need to understand simple maths ?

There will also be more than one double and there will be a blank gameweek. Those with 2 have the advantage
