Club World Cup Matchday 4 Best Captains

If you aren’t sure which players to captain this week, then you are in the right place! We take a look at the Club World Cup Matchday 4 Fantasy best captains, whilst also highlighting differential alternatives.

Captaincy is absolutely crucial for the success of most fantasy managers, so making sure we get it right could be hugely influential on final rank and mini-league position, so let’s get to it!

Note: This article will be updated as and when the fixture schedule becomes clearer.

Club World Cup Matchday 4 Best Captains

The opening game of Matchday 16 sees two Brazilian sides pitted against each other. Palmeiras are slight favourites for the clash versus Botafogo, but the game is expected to be a low scoring affair. Because of this, backing a defender from either side with captaincy could be beneficial. The standout options are Palmeiras full-back Joaquín Piquerez (€5.1m) and Botafogo full-back Alex Telles (€5.1m).

Later that day, PSG will be who many Club World Cup Fantasy managers look to for captaincy with a match against Inter Miami. Whilst Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (€9.2m) could be fantastic option due to his great form, it could be difficult to look past full-back Achraf Hakimi (€6.5m) who scored and kept a clean sheet in his previous game.

Club World Cup Matchday 4 Best Captains

Bayern’ meeting with Flamengo looks to be the best to target on Sunday. Flamengo, whilst impressing, have been ropey when it comes to underlying offensive data. Taking that into account, main man and penalty taker Harry Kane (€11m) could be the best of the bunch. However, we also know how capable midfielder Michael Olise (€9.4m) is after hitting three goals and two assists in his first three matches.

For those who fail to pick up a haul in the Bayern match, Chelsea v Benfica could be another great opportunity to utilise the captaincy armband. It’s a game we are expected to see goals in, so backing a key attacker could prove wise. Chelsea’ main man and penalty taker is Cole Palmer (€9.6m), whilst exactly the same could be said for Benfica’ Ángel Di María (€7.3m).

Monday 30th June

The early game sees Inter clash with Fluminense which could be a tough match for both sides. Inter’ wing-back system gives them more appeal though. Especially with the super attacking Denzel Dumfries (€6.3) back from injury. The Dutchman has multiple routes to points so giving him the armband could see success.

Immediately after that match Manchester City clash with Al-Hilal. The best of the bunch in this one appears to be penalty taker and striker Erling Haaland (€11m) who scored in his most recent match against Juventus during a 45-minute feature.

Tuesday 1st July

Real Madrid seem to be finding some serious rhythm so it doesn’t look good for Juventus who just shipped five goals to Manchester City. One player who is likely to take advantage of their defensive woes is striker Vinicius Junior (€11m). The Brazilian bagged a goal and an assists in Matchday 3, so heads into the game in fine form.

The final match of the week offers a safety net in the shape of Dortmund main man Serhou Guirassy (€9m). No striker has had more big chances in the competition thus far than him, and Monterrey next up should see him sustain his numbers.
