Club World Cup Fantasy Matchday 2 Budget Gems

Looking for cheap players for the opening round? Well right here is where you need to be! We take a look at some of the best Club World Cup Fantasy Matchday 2 budget gems.
Budget players are vital when it comes to building a team. As well as helping fit in the more premium options, they also have the potential to perform well, so let’s dive in!
Antonio Silva

Benfica will be hoping to bounce back and pick up all three points this week after their 2-2 draw with Boca Juniors in Matchday 1. That is very likely to happen as they come up against semi-pro club Auckland City.
Whilst the Portuguese side are almost certain to score goals, they are also heavy favourites to keep a clean sheet. The cheapest and most reliable route into the defence is centre-back António Silva (€4.7m). Silva is also eligible for scouting bonus.
Al-Hilal

Salzburg may be a European side, but they are arguably the worst in that category. The Austrian giants were woeful in their recent Champions League league phase – placing 34th from 36 participants and conceding the joint worst amount of goals.
This week it could be wise to look to Al-Hilal to target the Danes. Left-back Renan Lodi (€4.5m) is one of the cheapest ways into defence, but he also offers attacking threat – having managed three goals and seven assists in his most recent Saudi Pro League campaign.
Based on Salzburg’ poor backline it may also be rewarding to buy into their attack. Salem Al Dawsari (€5.6m) is the best of the bunch. As well as taking free-kicks and corners, he also produced a whopping 30+ goal contributions last season domestically.

Waldemar Anton

Dortmund started off their Club World Cup Fantasy with a 0-0 draw. This wasn’t a bad result as they came up against Fluminense, their toughest opposition of the group. They also kept a clean sheet, which was reflective of their end-of-season defensive form.
Whilst Dortmund do offer defenders with attacking threat due to their set-up, they also have the cheap Waldemar Anton (€4.6m). Although generally lacking attacking impetus, Anton offers scouting bonus due to his extremely low ownership. He also faces Mamelodi Sundowns this week, so he has a great opportunity to keep a clean sheet.
