Club World Cup Fantasy Matchday 1 Budget Gems

Looking for cheap players for the opening round? Well right here is where you need to be! We take a look at some of the best Club World Cup Fantasy Matchday 1 budget gems.
Budget players are vital when it comes to building a team. As well as helping fit in the more premium options, they also have the potential to perform well, so let’s dive in!
Franco Armani

Budget goalkeepers are difficult to come by it appears. There seems to be only several very budget picks between the sticks. It also doesn’t help that most of the best goalkeepers in the game are fairly expensive, or at least in regards to their actual potential.
Goalkeepers have a low ceiling in Club World Cup Fantasy, both this and the above both combine to make River Plate’ Franco Armani (€4m) an excellent option. An opening match against the lowly ranked Urawa Red Diamonds makes it a perfect opportunity for him to bank his first return of the competition.
Francisco Moura

Porto won’t have it all their way in Matchday 1. The European side come up against Palmeiras, so we can expect a tight affair. That may be, but when you have a player who can offer multiple routes to points, a tight affair could well be enough to secure a return, especially for a defender.
Francisco Moura (€4.1) offers much more than clean sheet potential though. Porto play with a back-three, which gives the wing-back plenty of space to advance forward. From his position the 25-year-old produced an impressive three assists and two goals during his final five league matches for club.

Emam Ashour

There is always temptation for fantasy managers to invest in the opening game of a competition like this. That may be the case in the Club World Cup as Al-Ahly clash with Inter Miami. The North American side have been extremely leaky as of late – shipping a huge 16 goals in their previous six outings.
That could mean potential for the Al Ahly frontline. One of their most influential attackers is midfielder Emam Ashour (€4.7m). As well as taking set pieces and a share of penalties, Ashour also produced a massive 13 goals and seven assists in his 23 league matches, so he heads into the match in great form.
Franco Mastantuono

River Plate appear to be a goldmine of options for Club World Cup Fantasy managers. As well as Franco Armani, the South American side could also have huge potential among their attackers, especially when taking into account that they face off with Urawa Red Diamonds.
The best route into their attack is arguably a 17-year-old. That may sound bizarre but the soon to be Real Madrid midfielder Franco Mastantuono (€4.3m) takes corners, free-kicks and penalties. He also managed four goals and four assists in his 12 league matches recently.
