Club World Fantasy 2025 is here! Continuing with our team previews, we take a look at the Porto best picks, predicted line-up and team overview.

Knowing how a team could line-up and their best assets could be absolutely key for success in Club World Cup Fantasy. Helping us today is fan @Falmeidaf who has provided us with his insight.

Team Overview

Porto Best Picks, Predicted Line-up and Team Overview

Porto qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 through the UEFA ranking pathway, not by winning the Champions League.

Here’s how it worked:

FIFA allocated four Club World Cup slots to UEFA (Europe):

  1. 2021 UCL winner – Chelsea
  2. 2022 UCL winner – Real Madrid
  3. 2023 UCL winner – Manchester City
  4. One additional team based on UEFA Champions League performance over 2021–2024

Since Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Man City already took three spots by winning the Champions League, the fourth UEFA slot went to the highest-ranked remaining club based on consistent UCL performance over the 2021–2024 seasons.

Porto’s path:

  • Porto consistently reached the knockout stages in multiple UCL campaigns.
  • They accumulated enough UEFA coefficient points over the 2021–2024 period to finish as the best-ranked European team that hadn’t already qualified.
  • This earned them the final UEFA spot in the 2025 Club World Cup.

As well as falling short in the Europa League, or at least in terms of fans expectations, they also finished third domestically – failing once more to secure Champions League football for the 25/26 campaign. More recent form has been ok – winning seven of their 10 matches and losing three.

Fans Comments

“I personally feel Porto will field their strongest team. They have a lot to prove this season and the manager surely knows that”.

“This season was really poor and it seems more like a downward trend than a fluke (poor financial decisions and a weakening squad over the last years). To top it off, in January we lost two of our best players In January (Nico and Galeno), whilst also changing manager – we now have the relatively unknown, Anselmi, who has been trying to implement a three-at-the-back system with little success. Therefore, I’d be careful in picking Porto players and I personally see us losing to Palmeiras in the starting match”.

Group and Fixtures

The likes of Palmeiras (BRA), Al Ahly FC (EGY), and Inter Miami CF (USA) join Porto in Group A. Porto’ toughest opposition are Palmeiras, who are slight favourites. However the Portuguese side should beat the likes of Inter Miami and Al Ahly.

Porto Best Picks, Predicted Line-up and Team Overview

Porto are a strong contender in Group A, so they could be well worth investment from a fantasy perspective, but who is likely to start for them?

Top Picks

Porto Best Picks, Predicted Line-up and Team Overview

The most exciting option in the Porto backline is Francisco Moura (€4.1m). As we can see, Porto play with a back-three system which means Moura can get into some extremely advanced positions. As well as being nailed to start, he also produced an impressive four goals and 11 assists in the league and UEL.

After Moura, defensive assets increase in price. Those looking to for top shot and penalty stopper, then look no further then goalkeeper Diogo Costa (€5.4m). Costa once saved a penalty in three consecutive Champions League matches.

18-years-old and coming in at an eye-watering €4.2m, Rodrigo Mora is one of the standout attacking options from Porto. The teenager called “Moradona” by the fans can score from anywhere and produced 10 goals and four assists in the league, along with seven goals and one assist in his previous nine matches.

CWC managers could also look at Fábio Vieira (€5.7m). Although creating just four goals and four assists in the league, Viera takes a share of corners and free-kicks which provides owners with additional routes to points. He may also offer points via tackles and key passes.

Up front and taking penalties is Samu Aghehowa. He also comes in mega cheap at just €4.2m. The Spaniard amassed a huge 19 goals and three assists during his 30 League matches. He also heads into the competition off the back of scoring three goals in his previous three outings.

There we have it, our Porto Best Picks, Predicted Line-up and Team Overview. Will you be picking any of their players?
