Buy, sell and keep for Gameweek 4

The third round of Fantasy Premier League is over so we look to the next and look at which players are a buy, sell and keep for Gameweek 4. Whether that be through injury, team and player form or other factors we advise the potential fate of assets in your teams.

Looking at players who are a buy, sell and keep for Gameweek 4 could be extremely beneficial to FPL managers. Knowing what to do with assets in your team can ultimately bring clarity with transfer use, captaincy and chip strategy.

Buy

  • Ben Chilwell (£5.8m – Chelsea) – The full-back ranks second amongst defenders for non-penalty expected goal involvement (1.46) playing in a left-wing position. Chilwell has both clean sheet and goal threat potential.
  • Malo Gusto (£4.1m – Chelsea) – Due to the injury to right-back Reece James Malo Gusto looks set to replace him until he recovers. He is the cheapest way into the Chelsea defence. He has also proved he has attacking threat with two assists last match.
  • Nicolas Jackson (£7.1m- Chelsea) – The Chelsea assets are in high demand this week as they come up against Nottingham Forest. Jackson has had as many big chances (five) as Haaland and found the net in his most recent match against Luton.
  • Bryan Mbeumo (£6.7m – Brentford) – No midfielder in the league has had more big chances than Mbeumo so far this season (four). He has already racked up three goals and takes his teams penalties. He could be one of the best options for Gameweek 4.
  • Yoane Wissa (£6.3m – Brentford) – Bournemouth have been awful defensively this season conceding some of the worst data in the division. Because of this many are stocking up on Brentford attackers and only Haaland has had more attempts in the box so far than Wissa.
  • Phil Foden (£7.6m – Manchester City) – Manchester City come up against a poor Fulham defence next. With his return from illness emphasised with an assist in the last game he could be a fantastic option. He has also registered nine chances created amongst midfielders which ranks him joint second best.
  • James Maddison (£7.6m – Tottenham) – Spurs face Burnley next who have shipped three goals in both of their first two matches. With that in mind and the fact that he sits second amongst all players in the game for non-penalty expected goal involvement (2.89) Maddison is a buy this week.

Sell

  • Gabriel Martinelli (£8m – Arsenal) – 35 midfielders have a better non-penalty expected goal involvement than Martinelli so far this season. No just this but there are also better performing options with a better fixture than Manchester United.
  • Gabriel (£4.9m – Arsenal) – If you are yet to sell Gabriel then he has to be a priority. Not only are there plenty of other good options out there available but he hasn’t started any of his first three fixtures. He also faces Manchester United next up.
  • Ollie Watkins (£8m – Aston Villa) – Both him and his side may be in form but the fixtures ahead look extremely tough which will limit his points potential. Not just this but there are some other great striker options with better fixtures.
  • Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.9m – Liverpool) – The Liverpool defence looks dire and they have failed to keep a single sheet so far. Trent has also failed to secure a single assist and with Aston Villa next none look likely moving forward.
  • Mohamed Salah (£12.5m – Liverpool) – The Egyptian has banked five points in every game he has played so far. This is simply not enough for someone so costly. There are so many better midfielders options in the game with better potential, fixtures and who are much cheaper.

Keep

  • Bukayo Saka (£8.7m – Arsenal) – Manchester United have been leaking plenty of goals at the start of the season. Saka looks to be on penalties again after taking and converting one in his latest match.
  • Eberechi Eze (£6.4m – Crystal Palace) – Eze could be given one more chance to convert his excellent underlying stats into FPL points this week. He faces a poor Wolves next. Eze also takes his sides set-plays and penalties.
  • Kieran Trippier (£6.5m – Newcastle) – It may have been a poor start to the campaign for the full-back but he is maintaining some very good attacking data. He also has a run of great fixtures ahead. It won’t be long before managers are clambering to get him in their teams.
  • Marcus Rashford (£9m – Manchester United) – It has been a slow start to the season for Rashford but after being placed back into his wing position where he bagged two assists last match it could be a good idea to keep him for now.
  • Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m – Manchester United) – Although Arsenal lay ahead for the Reds Fernandes has been sustaining some of the best attacking data in the division. He also takes his sides penalties which is another potential route to points.
  • Richarlison (£6.9m – Tottenham) – The Brazilian may have had a poor start to the season but his next opponent Burnley have conceded some of the worst defensive data in the league so far. This could be his last chance in many managers teams.
  • Kaoru Mitoma (£6.5m – Brighton) – Brighton have started the campaign in great goalscoring form. They face Newcastle next who have also been conceding goals every match. Mitoma looks electric every time he goes forward and has enough quality in his team to benefit from that.
