Buy, Sell and Keep for Gameweek 30

In this article we focus on buy, sell or keep for Gameweek 30. We dive into the Fantasy Football Scout Members area to use the fixture ticker and underlying stats with intention of categorising key assets as a buy, sell or keep for Gameweek 30.

Debating which players are a buy, sell or keep for Gameweek 30 could be quite challenging. There are lots of factors to consider this week including the set of fixtures in the round ahead, injuries, upcoming Blank Gameweeks and upcoming Double Gameweeks.

Buy

  • Dominic Solanke (£7.2m) – Those that used the Free Hit last week are likely to have held the Bournemouth striker. Those that haven’t got Solanke may want to start thinking about him as he faces Everton, Crystal Palace and Luton in the next three matches.
  • Chelsea – Chelsea have some excellent fixtures ahead, including one against newly promoted Burnley up next. For managers looking for a new goalkeeper then Dorde Petrovic (£4.5m) is now the Blues number one between the sticks. Malo Gusto (£4.2m) should also be considered. The French fullback has been fantastic this season and has mustered up five assists already. In attack the standout option is of course midfielder Cole Palmer (£5.7m) who has collected 11 goals and eight assists this season and takes penalties. Another potential option is striker Nicolas Jackson (£6.8m). Jackson picked up a return in each of his last three matches.
  • Rodrigo Muniz (£4.6m) – Fulham come against the worst team in the league next, Sheffield United. Because of that, his price-tag, and his three double-digit hauls in the last six league matches, Muniz could be a brilliant option long-term.
  • Liverpool – Chasing the title Liverpool will be eager to continue the sustainability of their elite defensive and offensive data. The Reds have lovely fixtures ahead, including a likely Double Gameweek so investment is critical. In defence the return of Trent Alexander Arnold and rotation around Andy Robertson could make Virgil Van Dijk (£6.5m) the safest option in terms of minutes. In attack Mohamed Salah (£13m) will be high on shopping lists after scoring two goals and creating three assists in his last two matches. Leading the Liverpool attack is striker Darwin Nunez (£7.5m) who has returned in all of his last four games.
  • Newcastle attackers – The Newcastle defence has become one of the worst in the league as of late which could suggesting avoiding. However, they are more than capable in attack. One player we should all be considering is midfielder Anthony Gordon (£6.1m). Gordon has returned in a huge 15 matches this season. Spearheading the frontline is Alexander Isak (£7.5m). The Swedish striker takes penalties for his side and has also scored in each of his last two matches.
  • Tottenham – They come up against Luton, West Ham and Nottingham Forest in the next three matches. Because of this they have huge potential. Although defensively shaky, Tottenham full-backs Pedro Porro (£5.8m) and Destiny Udogie (£5m) have attacking threat, more so the former option. Penalty taker and midfielder Son Heung-Min (£10.1m) remains the best attacking option after collecting 22 attack returns this season. FPL managers should also consider James Maddison (£8m). The English midfielder has collected four returns in his last seven games.

Sell

  • Aston Villa – Their recent blip in form is a concern but they also play both Manchester City and Arsenal in the next four matches. They also don’t play a Double Gameweek ahead like other sides. Some may decide to hold onto their assets for Wolves this week however.
  • Brighton – Brighton are another side with rough fixtures – facing Liverpool and Arsenal in their next three matches. Their schedule is awful so selling off their assets now could be a wise move.
  • Brentford – Many who didn’t use the Free Hit in Gameweek 29 may be stuck with Brentford assets. The Bees have been woeful recently and have matches against Manchester United and Aston Villa in the next three games. They too, do not have a Double Gameweek coming up.
  • Luton – The Hatters have had a kind schedule recently with two Double Gameweeks. However, they have meetings with Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City next up so now is the time to sell.

Hold

  • Arsenal – A game against Manchester City next up isn’t ideal for Arsenal. However, their recent form suggests their assets could have potential even against their upcoming opposition. For those still not keen then simply benching them until they play Luton after that could be wise.
  • Manchester City – We can use the same rationale for Manchester City. Manchester City are in great scoring form so starting their attackers in the game against Arsenal and benching their defenders should be the play here.
  • Ollie Watkins (£9m) – Although the fixtures aren’t ideal for Aston Villa (as mentioned in the sell section), Watkins has been one of the best assets in the game this season. The Englishman has proven to be consistent and explosive so holding him for now could be beneficial.
  • Fulham – Now many may have brought in Fulham players for Blank Gameweek 29 but they also have a great short term schedule against Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest ahead of them. Because of this holding onto their players for now makes sense.
  • Jarrod Bowen (£8m) -West Ham may have two tough on paper matches against Newcastle and Tottenham. But, both opponents have shown defensive fragilities recently so Bowen could have bags of potential.
